This is my second visit to villa retreat. Great place, good food and good hospitality. I enjoyed the stay and the room allotted (108) had both city view and valley view. My daughter whenever referred this place during our stay there called it home. She never felt that she stayed in a hotel. I would recommend this stay for all.
After lot of search i booked this hotel. I am very happy with the service and staff. Food was good .. very helpful nature of the receptionist and the chef ... It was a great stay at villa retreat. I would recommend this
We were a party of 6 (4 adults + 2 children) and we picked the Family suite for our stay, after quite a bit of research and deliberation. Pro's: - Great Location, within walking distance of local sightseeing places. - Stunning views from the room- be it City view from Bedrooms or Valley view from the Waiting room/Hall. - Polite and courteous staff. Good room service and decent food. - Family suite was spacious and comfortable. Con's: - Be it services rendered or cleanliness of the suite or facilities there is a lot of scope for improvement. - Housekeeping services requested in advance was almost always delayed. - While food served was good in general- would advise visitors to avoid the Poori served in Breakfast. Bottom-line: Not value for money- looking back it turned out to be an underwhelming experience overall. Nevertheless it still was a pleasant stay, and my sincere thanks to the hotel staff for their warmth and hospitality.…
There are enough pictures here to show you how beautiful Villa Retreat is - and trust me they don't do enough justice to how great it feels. You've also figured that it is in the best location possible. But what makes Villa Retreat truly special is it's people. They go above and beyond their role to make your holiday one to cherish and remember. Vinod recommended the most atypical experiences. He walked one of them with me with the patience of a saint. He helped me book my ticket, watched out for me - I could go on. Shadab, the head chef made sure that every meal had a delight factor. He gave me the best paratha ever - and as a seasoned punjabi, I've had my fair share. Shyam, the Chief 'Heart' Officer, is truly all heart and charm. He's also full of the best conversations that you could have. Anubhav, the GM may have 400 things to do but he will make time to treat you like a good, old friend. Nagesh who served you with the warmest smiles, Divya for being inspiring, even the mali who works so relentlessly that the garden in itself is a thing to explore in Kodai. I believe I've travelled a fair bit - but this holiday was truly exceptional. The biggest thanks to you all.…
We were a motley group - Adults over eighty plus teenagers totaling nine. Right from the time we reached the resort, Sanjay, Vinod, and the rest of the staff made us feel welcome and at home. The rooms were clean, ready, and remained that way throughout the duration of our stay, thanks to the excellent housekeeping staff. The management and staff went out of the way to ensure that we were comfortable, especially because of the old people who were part of our group. Custom menus were accommodated, and resort staff were always on call to help with the slightest requirement. Vinod curates the outdoor activities. He is just so fabulous. During our entire stay, we leaned heavily on Vinod for all our needs, and he sets the bar on what customer service in hospitality sector should be. Apart from the fantastic location, well maintained rooms, awesome staff, the experience for us went up a few notches due to Vinod. I should also mention Vignesh and Azad from the Kitchen for how helpful they were. Overall, I do not think they gave us any special treatment. This is how they treat every guest. It is something that all the staff value and follow every day and with every guest. Wonderful place to stay and enjoy your vacation. You will not be disappointed. The only feedback we had was to put side railings for the stairs in the property. Old people in our group found it difficult to climb up the stairs without them.…
We stayed at the Villa Retreat in Kodaikanal during our visit in the end of May 2022. The hotel is awesome and perfectly located. The Coaker's Walk is just beside the property. On the other side of the road is the Bryant Park and a 5 minutes walk will bring you to the Kodaikanal lake. You can reach the bus stand and the market in 10 minutes by walking. The Villa Retreat is a place that remains in the memory for a long time. The cleanliness, rooms and premises, cordiality of the staff, variety and tasty food, recreations, view from the lawn, and a lot more will mesmerize you. The homely environment of the hotel can be felt at every moment of your stay. Be there to know more.
Villa retreat is a wonderful place to visit and we enjoyed our stay. The food was awesome and tasty. The staffs were very helpful and courteous. The rooms were spacious and the experience with fireplace was really good. We stayed in the signature room and the view was breathtaking. Overall a very beautiful place to stay in Kodaikanal.
I am in love with this hotel. From the staff to the rooms everything was perfect. We stayed at this hotel with my one year old and parents and the service was impeccable. From the top to the bottom all the staff was very caring and the property was very well maintained. The outdoors were equally well maintained like the indoors. Absolutely beautiful terrace garden cafe, succulents everywhere and at first it may seem small but a huge area inside to walk around and hand out. Ofcourse the rooms inside also very well thought out with large window seating, comfy beds, clean bathrooms etc. Ofcourse the location is another great thing about this property. It is located right next to cockers walk and the main market area with a beautiful garden in front where the flower show is held each year. In general everything was really good. The only miss this hotel perhaps had was the food. It was too spicy for our taste. However there are a lot of options around and I would definately stay here again.…
