Lilly’s Valley is a uniquely beautiful resort set amid terraced gardens on three acres of wooded land, ringed by towering eucalyptus trees. Its 21 traditional stone cottages are constructed in the colonial British style, with handcrafted woodwork details throughout. It is the rare resort with an eco-focus and no concrete structures: even the furniture is lovingly made by hand by talented craftsmen! Built in 1982, Lilly’s Valley was the first resort in Kodaikanal. Our stone-and-wood cottages, both free-standing and attached, can accommodate couples, small and large family groups, students, and corporate groups. We are located in a quiet suburban neighborhood exactly 2 km from the center of town and the lake. With a short taxi ride or 15-minute walk, you’ll be in the heart of shopping, boating, horse-riding, roller-skating and other tourist attractions. Our style is low-key and customized to you: you can order simple, tasty Western and South Indian dishes from the kitchen, and hold gatherings in the garden gazebo with your own music and programs. We’ll even arrange a cozy night bonfire! We have special rates for long-term stays of one week or more, up to a 50% discount. Discounts are also available for weekdays. Many repeat customers, both Indian and foreign, have been coming here for decades, drawn back by the beauty, peacefulness, and cozy cottages. One Italian child born in one of our cottages returned 25 years later with her husband to stay in the same cottage!

We went with our dog(rottweiler), they gave us a room where we could have privacy and let our dog free. They even had options for personal bonfire which was very lovely. The staff was friendly and the place is kept clean. The breakfast menu was also very nice. The property is very peaceful and beautiful.

I highly recommend this resort to anyone seeking a peaceful getaway with excellent service and delightful food. Mr.Manohar and Mr.Daniel went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The resort itself is a must-visit place, with stunning surroundings and a serene atmosphere. While the food options were somewhat limited, the taste more than made up for it.

We stayed in Lilly's valley resort for two nights. The resort was well maintained and the rooms were very clean and hygiene. The staffs was very courteous and polite. My kids enjoyed the play area, cave rooms and the pond area. They organised camp fire and we enjoyed a lot. Their food is one of the best in kodai. The food was very delicious and homely. All prices was reasonable. We enjoyed our stay in Lilly's valley and I surely recommend this place for friends and family.

We stayed in Lilly's Valley Resort for a full week during our last family vacation. Here is a rundown for those who may be planning on staying here. The location of the resort is truly resort-like. The property is not in the middle of the town, nor is it way far away. It is situated just beyond Hotel Tamil Nadu, (TTDC) Kodaikanal (a veritable landmark in its own right), on the same road, just a couple of kilometres away from downtown Kodai and the Kodaikanal Star-shaped Lake. As their website FALSELY claims Lilly's Valley Resort, built in the year 1982 is NOT “the first resort in Kodaikanal” ! Wonder why they would put out such a blatant lie ! (‘Holiday Home’, another resort says they have been there “Since 1947”) !! I was there and I have posted a picture to prove it. During the course of our stay, concrete road works were going on just outside Lilly's Valley Resort’s main entrance. So we were asked by the resort staff to park our car on the road some distance away and walk back and forth to the resort for a couple of days until the laid concrete dried. Until then the resort entrance was barricaded for vehicular traffic. Lilly's Valley Resort, as shown in the website and Lilly's Valley Resort as seen in person are a completely two separate experiences. So do not go by what you see. The terrain has many levels and numerous ups and downs. The landscape, the surroundings, the environment are all at varying heights. When one sees it as a whole physically and not in parts as seen digitally, the entire setting looks very different. While it is all one and the same, seeing it in person is like completing a big jigsaw puzzle, where all the gaps get filled and one gets to enjoy the picture in its entirety ! The property is neat and clean with the flowers and the gardens well-maintained. There is a small kids play area, a few campfire sites, an interesting ‘Mountain Castle’ set-up with a Dolphin on its side and a fountain in front (when we were there, the room on top was getting built), an artificial lake and a couple of swings. There is an indoor recreation room with the basic carrom and chessboards only and nothing else. The staff are helpful and get things done – if and when asked. Overall, the location is great. The service is good. The facilities are okay. The restaurant is dreadful. Furthermore ... One of the most important and crucial means of relaxation and entertainment in any resort is sorely missing here in Lilly's Valley Resort – a proper and functioning Restaurant. There is a restaurant, which serves basic complimentary breakfast – not a lavish spread as one may expect of any resort worth its salt. Complimentary morning and evening coffee and tea are also served from flasks (with Marie biscuits in the evenings). Lunch and dinner are served only on pre order. The resort discourages guests placing lunch orders as happened to us. For placing the dinner order, the cut-off time is 06:30 p.m. So not out of choice, but out of necessity, we had to brave outside in the chill and cold and rains for our dinner almost every night. This is a huge drawback at Lilly's Valley Resort, as we could not stay back and enjoy a leisurely and luxurious dinner either in the restaurant, or in our own suite. This was a huge letdown for us. Shame on Lilly's Valley Resort. Let it be known, Lilly's Valley Resort has no functioning kitchen. And they do not provide room service as a norm. For lunch and dinner, the menu on offer is extremely limited – just a handful of basic dishes (see the menu attached) and that too with the preparations being substandard and very mediocre. And after two days, it is impossible to eat the same dishes repeatedly. If they want to improve their game, it is absolutely mandatory and definitely imperative for a resort-like Lilly's Valley Resort to have a proper kitchen with some talented chefs and a restaurant with trained waiting staff. Room service is also a must. Without these basic services provided to the guests, Lilly's Valley Resort stumbles and falters terribly in its offerings. Before booking, I had specifically asked Daniel if they have a fully functional kitchen and if they provide room service. He assured me that they do have a running kitchen, and that they do provide room service. Upon checking in, we discovered to our utter shock and horror that both his promises were complete lies.
