We , a family of 4 including our 2 kids had a wonderful stay at this hotel. We booked family triple room and it's very spacious with big led TV with almost all channels . To be honest the room can accommodate at least 5-6 people with ease. There is one extra wide double bed , a single bed and a futon which can accommodate another 2 people . Room key says the hotel was started in 1967 but the rooms are ultra modern with wooden floor and every thing in this hotel is extra spacious whether the car parking, restaurant, dinner buffet hall etc. Our plan includes breakfast and dinner and the spread is limited but every item they served is extremely delicious and very very tasty. Breakfast had corn flakes, bread butter Jam,idly, pongal, pudding and live counter served fantastic dosas and dinner was served in the old royal style with cinema on projector with fantastic food. We are a well travelled family and did stayed in many 4 and 5 star hotels across India including radissons, keys,Golconda,Uday suites etc but the food we tasted in this hotel is extremely superlative .kudos to the chef.
As others pointed out rightly, the most nice part is the staff. No fake smiles, no formality talks and everyone from security, bell boy, frontdesk, housekeeping,f&b staff were very friendly and helpful and genuine. Extremely family friendly environment . Special thanks to Saravanan sir frontdesk and Kumar the bell boy..

Very highly recommended.

Had a great stay here, the staffs were professionally well behaved and were courteous enough. Rooms were quite comfortable, pretty much same as whats seen in the photos while booking. Their complimentary breakfast is worth every penny. Just go for it. If you are looking for South Indian dishes for lunch and dinner it's not available you will have to look for outside options. They have their own brand of restaurants near Lake side which is worth a try. If you have a car it would hardly take 5 mins to reach the hilltop restaurants.

If they have to improve, i just have couple of things

1. The tea/coffee flask served in the room can be well cleaned.

2. The wifi offered is not sufficient, if you are planning to work with the offered wifi, i would say better rely on your mobile data

Hotel: We stayed at Hotel Jai for three nights and it was a good experience. We booked with breakfast and dinner. The meals were delicious. The hotel has a parking facility which was needed as we drove down. Also, I adopted a few plants from the hotel's nursery.

Room: I prefer small and cosy room and it was perfect if you are travelling solo or as a couple. The attached washroom has a hot shower facility.

Staff: Front desk staff was really helpful and welcoming. Restaurant staff always wanted us to try everything. I am vegetarian and therefore, the veg options in the buffet did not disappoint me.

Location: The Kodai lake is around 01 km away. Several restaurants within 2-3 mins from the hotel.

Internet: The hotel has free wifi & it works perfectly fine. Good connectivity for my Vodafone and Airtel networks if anyone is looking to work as a digital nomad.

I owner how come they have a 3-star tag. It is nothing more than a guesthouse. They have a very limited breakfast menu, rooms are average with old furniture, Even in breakfast they don't provide egg and you have to order it extra. Food taste is below average. Like a hostel, there is only a 1.5 hr window for guests to have breakfast and dinner. Approach road is always jam.

Hi Guys, we visited this place on 26 Dec 2020. The hotel is really very clean, no smoking inside the hotel, warm water morning/evening. Breakfast & Dinner buffet served hot and fresh, although not much variety but its low oil food so I liked it.

The location is also good. Not in the middle of the city nor too far from it, so, its good.

I would have preferred a little more friendly staff. They could wear a smile should be enthusiastic about helping the guest. I asked for camp fire but they brazenly refused and said it will charge 2000 extra. They could have managed it. Even we were okay to pay some amount but the way they behaved was very rude.

We stayed here for 3 nights. In the 3rd night, some unfriendly neighbors checked in and they were making noise till 2AM. The hotel staff should have instructed them to behave themselves. At least this much proactiveness can be expected from them.

Rest all good.

The hotel from outside its not that attractive, but inside is just gorgeous. The rooms and the hallway are beautiful and kept clean as well. The complimentary breakfast and dinner are so good and they provide authentic traditional dishes. And the Hotel is very near to the lake (under 1.5 Kms). And the room service was excellent.

I would highly recommend this for friends, family, couples and business people. My final thoughts about Hotel Jai, its value for money and a very cozy and healthy stay.

Rooms were good if not excellent. Little old but spacious and clean. Ideal for family. The best part was the breakfast and dinner. 5 stars for the review was given for the food. It was so nice. Please give attention to small things like changing the curtains more frequently.
The staff except for those inside the reception were very friendly. Please give a smiling face to your guests and wish them. It won't cost you a bit but it makes a lot of difference.

Avoid at all cost. The entire hotel management staff needs to undergo training in hospitality and management. It seems every one at this hotel thinks he/she is doing favors for the customers rather than doing their job. The level of arrogance can be made out by all without any difficulty. I wasn't provided all the details about my room when I checked in and when I questioned about the same later, the behavior of the staff was like, "This should be known by you and all'. Theirs ZERO courtesy or warmth in the behavior of the staff. All of them seem like they are dealing with unwanted, unpleasant guests.

As for the hotel, it looks as well as feels pretty old. The hot water timings are weird and is something which isn't adhered to properly. So, for people travelling with elderly of very young people, please avoid this hotel.

The breakfast and dinner spread is good but was also something I didn't have more than once as I was really pissed off by the reception staff.

Cons :
1. Bad toilet and bathrooms are very old
2. Breakfast should include egg items and staffs should encourage us to go and take food. Otherwise we will think like they are not happy with us.

Pros:
1. Its near to lake and one can easily walk to hotel.
2. Staffs are very helpful and cooperative

Starting with Mark the admin you have in the hotel is one of the kindest person I have seen in the hotel business. There is never a no from him anytime.

In fact all the staffs in the hotel are really good. They have a never say never attitude.

The breakfast and Dinner are good. You should taste their Chicken 65 ( my friend did and said it was really good) the Gobi 65 is very good. The rooms where fully cleaned and sanitized.
