Kodaikanal is generally a base for people to explore the hills around on bus/car/walking tours. There is not a huge selection of hotels in Kodaikanal and most of them are on the average side apart from one 5 star property the Carlton which overlooks the lake. Most of the places to stay are outside the town in the hills around and no doubt are very nice but we wanted to stay in the town. The rooms in the Hilltop Towers are very basic but there is hot water. The breakfast is served in an adjacent building and is a good Indian breakfast. The staff in both the restaurant and the reception area are very helpful. There is a laundry service available. You can walk and cycle around the lake. It is a busy, noisy, dusty town and it is full on and busy all day long. If we were returning to Kodaikanal, we would probably stay in a homestay nearby rather than the town but you would need transport.…
wow on entering the hotel warm welcome by receiption people. and welcomed us with high breakfast. what a delicious taste and lot of varieties. vegetarian food we had. room very neat and clean, with glass windows. enjoyed the outside scenary very much. it is in the middle and very near to park, boat house and many orher places. room service the best, as soon as we called them, next minute it was ready. bathroom very clean and new look all over.
This property is located at a walkable distance from the lake on the main road with market and bus stand very nearby. So location wise awesome. View from my room was superb. They have their own in house restaurants/cafes, a variety of them, which serve a large spread of delicacies, all very good in taste. You name it and you will get it in one of their restaurants/cafes. Taste and cost wise really good. The front desk people were very warm and welcoming. I was really impressed with Mr Dominick and his colleagues for their hospitality. Rooms were good and clean, done in an old fashion, which has its own charm. The hotel was decorated for Christmas which made the atmosphere more jovial. Mattresses were comfortable, bedsheets, curtains, towels etc were really clean. Bathrooms were big and clean. But the walls in the room and bathroom were a little damp, all of them. There was no lift in the hotel, which we didn't require, but elderly people may feel the need. All in all, a very good and recommended stay.…
Booked deluxe suite for family, very small room, not worth to be called a suite for 4.5 K; cheating tourists.Staff courteous; basic amenities to be provided not adequate...dont recommend at all, they dont even give a complimentary drop to nearest location
