Bundi one of the most picturesque town of Rajasthan, sits on a narrow gorge in this hills and is encircled by a walled fortification with four gateways Bundi was named after Bunda a Meena chieftain. Bundi is famous for its intricate paintings and murals. The town is also known as the city of “stepwells” as there are a number of step wells dating back to the 17th century .James Tod wrote about Bundi is his celebrated Annals Antiquities of Rajasthan (1829) “ The coup d’ocile of the castle palace of Bundi from which ever side you apporoach perhaps the most striking in hide “Bundi is in a sense ap town and as befits a center famous for its paintings in 17th & 18th centuries , the town still gives the feeling of having the seat of a court. In -the lap of attractive green hills of Aravali on the bank of Nawal Sagar Lake in the Bundi city , the temple of “GAJALAXMI” is the center of people’s belief all over the region & state .

The place is really noisy in the night, the room really dirty and the host, an old man, really unprofessional and he try to cheat us with prices. No toilet paper in the room, it was so disgusting we did not take a shower. There were some drops of brownish liquid to the wall, and the towel has flies on them and reddish stains. Also the certificate of excellence seems to be fake but this also in other hotels we visited in the city, so maybe they just copied it and changed the name. Don’t go there, one of the worst place I’ve ever been.

As we arrived late in the day and had already booked this hotel we did stay for one night. We were met by the manager (in the dingy lobby) who was a very strange older man who wanted our help to fill in the guest registry. We were shown to our room which has seen better days. The place desperately needs a makeover to update the antiquated furnishings and rooms as well as a new coat of paint throughout. The paint on the walls is peeling and have not been thoroughly cleaned in a number of years as you can see dirt from hand prints throughout. Needless to say, the bed was uncomfortable and the bedclothes were not all that clean!! We discovered large ants throughout the room and decided that one night was certainly enough in this hovel. We had a very so-so breakfast at this place.

I felt a bit ripped off at this place. I wanted to spend more for New Years eve and ended up with dirty sheets with the last guests hairs all over & a cold dribble of a shower. The man who runs the place would not budge on the 800 rate despite me not having a shower for the day. After I gave him 2000 to pay he tried to short change me by 200. Not good vibes to be honest. I found another lovely, clean room elsewhere for more than half the price with a hot, powerful shower. Much better choices around Bundi!

A basic but nice and clean accommodation in beautiful Bundi. Friendly family, loveliest chef who prepared us delicious breakfast and a nice reading niche in the room. Beds are comfy, bathroom basic but everything very clean. We enjoyed our stay!
