the worse guesthouse i ever stayed in. Damp and cold , no caracter , the owners wants you to dine on the roof terrace that is freezing with two filthy tables and a lot of monkey waste . Had to put on more cloths to go to bed , a nylon sheet for the bed felt like a plastic , the sheets were damp !!!!!!!!

We stayed here for a couple of nights.

The good - location is good, rooms were ok (although not finished when we stayed), roof terrace.

The bad - the guy who owns the place and his grandfather were creepy - on two occasions they came up to our room and once I'd opened the door they made there way inside the room without asking - my girlfriend was actually in bed the second time!! It was totally inappropriate - especially because both times I had said I would come down to sort out what they had come up for (once was to check in, the other was about a railway ticket).

They also gave us really bad advice about railway tickets - I said I would get a ticket from the station - but they insisted that we need to book through them - which they charged ridiculous commission on... we got to the railway station and we didn't need to have reservations as I had believed from what I had read online.

I would avoid this place at all cost - definitely don't believe a word they say about booking railway tickets, and don't open the door past a crack unless you want to be joined in your room.

A bon entendeur....

We were in this place in November 2012. We arrived in Bundi after a nighmarish day (I described the problems in the review of the drivers company that we hired) and it was already dark. We booked a room in this hotel through a famous hotel-booking website. When we arrived, we were welcomed by a lady which invited us to enter this old looking house and parked us on a old dirty and dusty sofa while she was surfing facebook. Later came an unfriendly old man which said unpleasant things on us, perhaps thinking to be funny, but he was only irritating. To make matter worse, he had been really slow on copying the data from our passports. When we were presented our room, well, the word room isn't correct, it was something else. It was cold, it was very bad smelling, it was damp, it was really dirty. We spent a night there in our sleeping bags because it was late and we couldn't get out to look for another place, but we left early the next morning. They had an indoor "barthroom" so dirty that we refused to take a shower there (by the way, the shower had only cold water). I guess that they have two kinds of rooms. The rooms for those that arrive early and a spare room for the unlucky that arrive later. When we asked for information to the personnel to reach the centre, we received three different information from three different people. So, my advice is to avoid this place. Take it in account if you don't find anything else and you don't want to spend a night sleeping in car, which it could still be a good option.

Nice but too expensive (500 rps) for the room we got, and the men are really pushy on girls, including my girlfriend traveling with me! ... Food was good, no need to go outside, and the wifi is a nice plus.

As a female solo traveller I could not have felt more safe than in this nice guesthouse. Super helpful and sweet family, beautiful rooms and good food.
Located in a calm spot not far from the fort. Close to the lake.

As an inbetween stop, Bundi managed to greatly exceed our expectations. So it was with this guesthouse and the kind family that runs it. The food is delicious and the kitchen, contrary to what one review said, is perfectly clean. Just let them know what you want to eat on time and they'll go and buy it fresh! Visit the waterfalls, climb the fort and relax on the terrace afterwards. Very laid back. No doubt this is the place to stay in Bundi. Say hi to Krishna the turtle and the pet birds which softly adorn the place with their musical soundtrack during the day.

Me and my friend stayed at Shivam Guesthouse for 3 nights in July. While the room was ok for the price (not the cleanest bathroom, sheets too small for the bed but big room with ac), the restaurant was not a good experience. The kitchen is very dirty and most things were not available. The rooftop terrasse lacks charm and a lot of flies and monkeys are around you while you eat.

Unfortunately i arrived in bundi pretty sick already - a brutal India stomach - the owner of the guesthouse took me to the hospital on his Motor bike and made sure i got all the medication needed, bought me food and checked on me regularly. Traveling alone and being sick is one of the most horrible things ever, but they made me feel at home and i got better soon. Can highly recommend This place!

I stayed at this guest house for 2 nights whilst in bundi. It was a great place to stay. I arrived at midnight and the place was all shut up. But when I knocked on the door I was welcomed by such a lovely lady and her family. The rooms are basic but very clean. But what makes this place special is the family who own it. They are so friendly and they treat you as if your part of there family which is great when your away from yours. I would defiantly recommend anyone to stay here. A great place :)
