We met Mortu and his lovely wife when we ate at the rooftop restaurant. Mortu is extremely knowledgeable about the area and booking transport, etc. He has gone out of his way to help us with train tickets and advice on where to visit, and we weren’t even staying here! I would advise anyone visiting Bundi to either stay, or visit this guest house.

The room was cleaned as we chose it, the bathroom was spotless and the bed sheets were clearly changed after the last visitor. The owners, a very cute couple, were eager to make our stay in Bundi the best they possibly could. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to kick back for a couple of days from the (good) craziness of Rajasthan.

Everyone is really friendly and they were extremely helpful with booking us an overnight bus and making sure we got to the bus on time. The rooftop restaurant has great food, and the rooms were nice. Definitely recommend :)

Shivam the owner done the best to keep guest comfortable and look for what you need anytime. Rooms were cosy and clean located in the heart of the city. Fort is just walking from the hotel and all family will look after you specially for having dinner with them. Definitely recommended

I immediately noticed that the sheets were dirty and used (hairs/crusty spots) but was assured that they were clean so I dropped it but so wish I had insisted on new sheets - sleeping was so gross - I couldn't stop feeling cracker crumbs and smelling someone's sweat. SO GROSSSSS! To flush the toilet, you have to fill up a bucket of water and pour it into the toilet. There was hot water, but not from the shower head, you have to duck under the faucet to use the hot water - it was super difficult, but hilarious. Wifi would barely connect but did not work. Sleeping was difficult; there was a screaming baby all night and what sounds like 4,000 barking dogs outside. :) The breakfast was completely flavorless boiled potatoes/tomatoes and toast. Everything was just so bad. Shivam

From the moment we stepped into Shivam guest house we felt so welcome and it was clear the family cared so much about us having a good stay. Our room was huge and so clean with comfy beds. The guest house was in a perfect location in the old town to wander to the lake, markets, palace and fort. Montu was so kind helping us book our next trains and even waited up til 1am to make sure we got our tuk tuk to the train station (as 2 female travellers this was so helpful). Devchand's food in the rooftop restaurant was also amazing, especially the tomato and eggplant curry with some of the best chapatis and tea we've had. It was lovely to be able to just chill out on the rooftop at sunset overlooking the lake and city. We loved our stay at shivam and can't wait to return. If you're

This place is a little more expensive than other places in Rajasthan. Yes the rooms are clean and nice, and the dining area is also quite nice, with good views. But I didn't find the owners that helpful. People kept telling me how helpful they were but this was not my experience. I felt they didn't give me much information on some quite important issues (like where was ok to go when there were protests in the town), and they also were not particularly helpful in booking my bus ticket. I feel you could probably find a better place to stay in Bundi. Little bit of a weird vibe in my opinion, but that might also have been due to what happening in the town at that time. Probably wouldn't stay here again.

I came by at an inconvenient time for the host family. Nevertheless, they welcomed me into their humble abode as if I were family and thus began three of the most blissful days I spent during my travels in India. Bundi is a town filled with exceptional, honest, and upright people who shower you with kindness often absent in more touristy cities elsewhere. The host family of Shivam's is a prime example, making sure each and every one of my needs were attended to during my stay in Bundi and my father's two weeks afterwards. The guesthouse is quite easy to find--simply walk along the road just north of the Nawal Sagar lake and you will see signs for it. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and equipped with hot water. In the rooftop, there is a restaurant with 360 degree views of

Coming to Bundi this year in November, we aimed at getting a room at the Shivam Tourist Guest House, as it is listed at the top of Lonely Planet's 'sleeping' list. We arrived at the address by foot from the busstation without a reservation. Unfortunately we had to realize, that all rooms were taken and availability was only possible the next night. The owner recommended the guesthouse opposite his place and we staid there without a hussle. We came back for dinner twice to the Shivam restaurant on the rooftop with 360° views of Bundi and enjoyed the food and evening air. We also booked train- tickets with Montu- the owner. And this is why we are writing this review, really. Montu spent a lot of time with us sorting out our train connections and booking trains for us. He is a very

The guest house is a good place to stay if you’re looking for something cozy, reasonable and clean in Bundi. Abhijeet and his family are wonderful hosts who treat their guests with a lot of love and respect, and make them feel very comfortable, whether for a day or a week. After a long day in town, coming back to the guest house for a warm bath and good food is all you need!
