I stayed at the Shivam for four nights in early January and had a fantastic time. The Shivam Guest House is located just outside the old part of town, in a quiet corner of a quiet town (by Indian standards). It's the perfect place to base yourself for a stay in beautiful Bundi. The room was great - very good value - and the service is excellent. They have hot water, and best of all, the place is family run and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Tampi and Montu run a tight ship - I can't recommend the Shivam highly enough.

This is a really nice and warm place! The room was really clean and the hot showers the best I had so far. It was really nice to sit on the roof top for a drink or food. Though the roof-top is not exactly fantastic looking right now, I am sure it will be a great place to hang out once the construction for more rooms and a new kitchen is done. Not to mention, they have a really great cook. It the first place where I made sure I finish every single bit of food on my plate. The owners are really friendly and they really took care of me. Great for solo travelers.

This place is welcoming and charming! The owners are lovely and couldn't do more to help! The resident tortoise is just as friendly... The rooms are clean and good value including free wifi. The location good being right next to the major sights which is a plus. The home cooked food is also fab! A definite place to head for in Bundi.

The guest house has very helpfull owners. They have a restaurant, which is quite good. It is a very clean place, with the right relaxed atmosphere. It is probably the place to meet other backpackers in Bundi. It is a long walk from bus or train station, as it is situated just below the palace/fort - or just a little further from there.

We had the same experience as what reviewer Franz_Zena wrote in an earlier review. We booked a room months early at Rs 300 per night. Then when we arrived, we were told that there is a better room at a higher price (500 inr) which we can choose. my husband inspected both the rooms. the higher priced room had unclean toilet. But the owners assured they will clean it. But I was reluctant to pay 200 inr extra for a supposedly "better" room for just a stay of one night, and we were not told about this when we booked our room via email. I had also read in guide books that Bundi hotels are super cheap and nice and clean. The room we got was on the ground floor with a narrow rundown bathroom (same as Franz_Zena). On asking for towels and soap, we were given a used towel and a used soap ! The bedroom was extremely dirty and full of dust. Also, when we asked for the price of private vehicle/taxi from Bundi to Pushkar for our next day journey, we were quoted some hefty prices. The next day we ourselves booked a taxi from the stand at a price about 500 inr less.

NIce rooms, cleaned, Try to have one not overfacing the "main" road as in the morning, very early, a procession walks singing...more than one time ! And they begin at 6.... Food is good, also breakfast is ok. I would stay again, for sure even if I had expected more from Bundi itself... Always consider the relationship between price and rooms....

I arrived in Bundi a week ago, and spent that much time trying to find a place that was clean and comfortable. Some places had good views, but the cleanliness was sub-standard (even for Rajastan). Other places were clean enough, but lacked light or a good restaurant.
Shivam has the perfect combination of cleanliness, views, and food. The hosts are very welcoming and made me feel right at home. Raghu, the elderly patron of the guest house is funny and sweet, and his sons Tumpi and Montu are welcoming as well.
The rooms are spotless, with tasteful artwork on the walls and clean, open bathrooms. There is a new rooftop restaurant being made, and the view promises to be among the best in the city. The most important thing about this new restaurant is the food of course, which excels in Indian and Continental flavours.
To summarize, Shivam is the best option in the city, and I plan to return next time I'm in Bundi.

We arrived late in the evening and they were very kind with us. Our room was very nice, colored (yellow and green!) and clean, with a big bathroom (the biggest we had in our long travel around north of India).
Breakfast and lunch was good (milkshake is wonderful!)
The hotel is very close to the Bundi Palace (DON'T go to the fort!!! many money and quite nothing to see) and the city centre, so a good position.
Definitly to recomend!

Great place to stay, welcoming friendly family run guest house. Very very cheap also, our room was only 250rupees a night! They have helped with many things like bus tickets for our onwards journey and advice with things to do in Bundi. A nice rooftop with good views of the lake and Palace and serving lovely food.

the worse guesthouse i ever stayed in. Damp and cold , no caracter , the owners wants you to dine on the roof terrace that is freezing with two filthy tables and a lot of monkey waste . Had to put on more cloths to go to bed , a nylon sheet for the bed felt like a plastic , the sheets were damp !!!!!!!!
