The room was simple but brightly decorated and very clean, food, both breakfast and evening meal were very tasty and secure parking was provided for the bike.
Great all round.
There is hot water all day and WiFi working around the property. Besides they provide you towels at no extra cost.
Location next to the small lake and near the palace and the market. The views from the rooftop are wonderful.
Everything about this guesthouse oozes hospitality and homeliness. The family who run the guesthouse clearly care very deeply about their work and about the guests who stay with them. From the moment I set foot in the guest house I felt as though I was being taken care of as though I too was a part of the family.
We visited during a relatively quiet period in Bundi in terms of tourism and my friend and we were the only guests. Even so they offered a complete breakfast menu every morning without fail and always made the offer of a vegetarian thali complete with dal, vegetables, rice, chapatis, and papadams for dinner.
We were also able to get clothes washes here for a small fee and it might just have been the most worthwhile money we spent during the trip.
The location is great as well, just a five minute walk from the main palace and fort complex and close to the major stepwells, shivam is perfectly situated to see the best that Bundi has to offer.
However, the food was a lot more expensive than we would have expected from such a place. We would recommend eating out for a cheaper meal or ask for prices beforehand (which we didn't, trusting it would be in the range of what we had seen over our last 5 weeks in India).
Owner always try to make their guest as comfortable as possible.
Central location and great value of money.
We were happy with it and do recommended this budget place to travelers.
I travel alone as a woman and felt very comfortable there. The Tampi family is wonderful, their little daughter is an angel and Tampi is a wonderful and friendly owner.
I was able to quickly connect with other travelers there.
Breakfast and dinner are freshly prepared and are recommended! Tampi has made a wonderful wellness oasis out of its rooftop. Enjoy the view!
Thank you for the wonderful week in your Guest House Tampi!
Rooftop terrace was great otherwise I would have stayed elsewhere. There are no facilities in this guest house whatsoever, perhaps in a few years time.. if you are backpacking and want to pay $12 a night then great.
Although I only spent one night in Bundi, I really wish I had planned to stay longer because it was so relaxing of a small city and I had no issues staying at Shivam. We didn't eat there but their chai and coffee was delicious, and the family who owns the establishment were hospitable. The husband-owner assisted my friend in booking her last-minute train ticket to Uttarkhand and gave us tips on how to get to Delhi amidst the rush of the 3-day holiday weekend in August (between Rhaki and Independence Day). We weren't able to use internet, however, as the connection at the Guesthouse was shoddy.
I would love to return to delightful Bundi in the future, and I'd recommend Shivam for a quiet, comfortable, and affordable option!
"If heading out during the day, try to let the owner know when you plan on returning. As the property doubles as a home, the door is kept bolted throughout the day."Read full review
