Detailed Reviews
We came here while coronacrises. We had to stay here for a long time, but we were happy to be at this quiet and nice place. The family that runs the guesthouse was very polite and helpful if you needed them. We really appreciate that they gave us hospitality. The room we had at the backside was simple but sweet. Just in the morning you have to be a little careful, because the monkeys are around, but that is kind of funny. Also you are in 10 minutes at the market or ATM which was helpful in this time we stayed here in Bundi.
Also I just want to say thank you Uma Megh for everything.

Our stayin at Uma Megh Haveli was wonderful. I can't even say how gentle the staff is!
When I was ill they brought me food as room service for free and suggested me the nearest ayurvedic hospital.
The location of the gueshouse is perfect, indeed: lake view and few minute walking to the main market.
I expecially adored the terrace on the rooftop, and we spent beautiful afternoons there drinking chai, reading and havin sun tan!
The indoor restaurant serves delicious food and tasty breakfasts.
Thank you guys, well done!

Hostel location is quite perfect : in the touristy neighboorhood, by the lake (and close to the fort and the palace too), our room did have a view on the lake, which is very nice when waking up. The rooms seem old but do have some character and you feel like chilling our in them. Our room was with shared bathroom and the bathroom was very old, only one room with shower and toilets for several rooms (so you can wait quite a lot if someone is washing while you just wanna take a leak).
But several things made that we didn't enjoy this experience as much as we could have. First when we arrived at the train station, in the night, a tuk-tuk driver came to us with the name of our hotel and our name, so we went with him, thinking that our hotel had arranged something to pick us up at the station without telling us (it had happened once in Jaisalmer). But when we get to the hotel, the tuk tuk driver asked 200Rs from us (while the ride was worth 100 at most), when we complained to the manager of the hotel, he told us that he had never given our name to any tuk tuk driver (OK but how did he get it ?!). So I can't recommend a hotel where you get scammed even before entering the hotel premises. Then the hotel restaurant was really overpriced and they were stingy on everything : the nutella pancake for instance had only the name of it and you could barely feel that there was any nutella at all, and it was the same for everything. Finally the scooter that we rented from the hotel was also overpriced and we didn't feel like it was safe at all (direction issues), and we had to wait a long time for the manager that was supposed to come to our room to give us the keys.

What a dreadful place. It was recommended by travellers & reviews looked good but the room we had did not match any of these reviews. It was dirty. The tap didn’t turn off. There was used soap in the soap dish, linen was stained & dirty. Toilet filthy. And a mosquito breeding ground. Single beds booked & only a double. Garden view was a joke. We couldn’t stay here and moved on an hour after arriving. A heated discussion ensued & he blocked us in until we had paid in full. No recommendation from us!

I came here 6 years ago and I was very happy to find again my corner of happiness. Big bright clean rooms some with some without bathroom but always very hot water nice staff and lovely views from the 2 floor rooms. A special mention goes to Ram ji who is a real cook, he should deserve the first place and I would say not only among the restaurants in Bundi, but in Rajastan, and to my experience, in India. A nice setting, facing Bundi lake and sharing the garden with the lovely Uma Megh haveli. Of course there are more elegant top level restaurants around India, but here you pay small prices for a really special cuisine. Explosions of different spices, he also adjust properly the 'hot' for those who are not to used to high doses of chili, but keeping the taste to top standards. Even the classic dishes here they are on a different level: my favourites so far are the stuffed capsicum and the special eggplant. Go go go and try it, he really deserves it! And if the winter evenings are a bit cold, the nice staff will set up a little fire to keep you warm! I wrote by mistake the review of this place on another restaurant with a similar name.. the one I ment is this one.. garden cafe!

So we go from pushkar to bundi. We previously booked our rooms through Agoda.
When we get there, the owner (young man, not very polite) tells us there's no room available, because he didn't check the bookings...even though we fully payed for them online a day ahead.
After shamefully taking us across the town to other guesthouses, he arranges us a room in another place, insisting that the fault of this all was the system of the website.
For our surprise other guesthouses around town are way cheaper, friendlier, cleaner and of course minimally professional compared to this.
After a lot of excuses the guy paid us the amount we had previously booked in cash, not without saying: "im taking the loss, you should talk to the company but ok". Hahaha it's funny if it wasn't just sad.
I can't help but yell to everyone to not book this place. There's plenty of other cheap options in family run guesthouses around Bundi without the lack of respect this place has.

My rustic but very clean upstairs room had a stunning view of the palace and fort from the bathroom and I overlooked the garden and lake from the raised lounge platform behind my bed. My shower was hot and bed comfortable. The owner is a lovely guy who was there for anything needed. The garden restaurant is owned by other people and serves good food, but is pricier than the haveli. I'd definitely stay in this private location again.

Six days in this really nice and cheap Haveli!
A good location in the city, just in front of the lake and with a peaceful garden.
We were at the second floor, beautiful room and view.
Its restaurant, the Garden restaurant/Cafe is aslo very good! The staff is more than helpful.
Home made cook, so it take time for excellent dishes (veg and ask for the non veg menu.....very good chicken).
