Jitu invited us to drink some tea at his lovely roofterrace! After a nice conversation we decided to stay at his place. Our room was cosy and well decorated and it has the best view of the fort! Jitu and his wife teached us how to make nice curry and chapati and we had a great dinner together! Btw he serves the best India Chai tea ever!!! We had a great stay, Thanks to Jitu and his lovely family! Jitu, all the best and good luck! Sara & Dennis (the Netherlands)
What a find! Tarah Homestay is just what we had been looking for. Friendly family, great host, comfortable and clean room, good location and the best view of the palace. The host, Jitu, is very friendly and interacts with his guests with respect, understanding when you need your rest and when you want to chat. We enjoyed Jitu’s cooking, and it’s great that he is willing to share his recipes and let you watch him cooking. We will definitely be trying the recipes at home! Thanks for a lovely stay. See you soon!
Bundi is a great place to stay anyway and the Tarah Homestay has probably the best view on the palace as it's located opposite to the entrance gate. I spent quite some time sitting on the terrace or the rooftop and staring at the palace, enjoying it in different moods of light and watching the kids on the rooftops around flying their kites. Jitu and his family are very hospitable people who ensure having a pleasant time. There is a free cooking class and the food is just great. I'd recommend the Tarah Homestay and Guest House.
We loved our one night stay here. Jitu is very kind and organised a birthday party for me. He has good advice, is always available and his guest house has all that is needed for backpackers during a short stay. My girlfriend did not sleep so well because dogs were barking at night but you must know that this could happen anywhere in India!
Jitu, the owner of the place is an amazing guy, took care of us like a family. The room we stayed was big, clean and cheap! And the food is maybe the best Ive had in india :) also a great view from the house rooftop. Strongly recommended!! Go to Jitu's place 💛
I had a great time at Tarah Homestay. The location is perfect, right in front of the fort, and in the middle between the market and the lake. We took the room in the last floor, that is connected with the rooftop, and it was amazing to have morning tea with the great view of the city, and also enjoy the sunset in the afternoon. The room is spacious and clean. They don't have wifi, but it's a great opportunity if you are looking for a relaxing panoramic place. Jitu and his family cooked a delicious dinner for us, very tasty and at good price. Thank you very much Jitu for all your hospitality!!
The room is clean, well fir used And beautifully decorated, huge bathroom And abobe all: killer view And warm welcoming family. Having a good bed And a clean place for such a price, as well as dining And having breakfast in a private rooftop (perfect for yoga And hanging out) with front view o palace.... is something i think you get nowhere else in Bundi. I felt extremely lucky to meet Jitu, Rani And all members of the family And have such a nice place. I would love staying there for long term just to savour the place properly. Best wishes And all of luck for this beautiful And big family
I was lucky to get the room at the top floor, which was of amazing value. View and location is probably the best in Bundi - a quiet neighborhood and a perfect view of the palace and Fort. Two balconies, big and well maintained room which was also nicely decorated with plants and pictures, 2 Windows, a large shower... And Jitoo, the owner, is an amazing cook, and also a very friendly and helpful guy. Don't miss his Thalis! Would have rate it five stars, but there were also some issues: The toilet had to be flushed "manually" (i.e with a bucket) which I wasn't told about it when checking in, the room was not properly cleaned - unwashed floor and dust everywhere, the hot water gazer is tiny and barely enough for a quick shower, and lastly - MANY dogs barking at night, which is a problem in lots of places in India, and here also. Still, overall I've enjoyed my stay here a lot and definitely recommend it!…
This small-scale guesthouse offers a nice view from the terraces on the palace and the fortress. They cook as well, if you want. The food here is delicious and maybe the best i have had in India, especially in combination with the fact that you eat with view on the palace and fortress makes this a special experience. Bundi in general is a very pleasant, beautifull, not too large town. The telephone number of Tara Homestay: 00919783329554 Email: tarahomestay@gmail.com
But they definitely need to try much much harder. Only good thing is that they are very very polite and helpful. that of course is the most important thing but only worth an average rating. The rooms are pretty small and you can just about live in them. Secondly, I don't know why they don't keep it more clean. The dogs poo is all over as mentioned by other people. Food is Ok. If they a little more it can be perfect.
