We stayed two nights, room tarrif, food price are to high, poor maintenance, staff are not properly trained, hot water not available during morning time, I will suggest not to stay in this property, better to stay outside the park
The location of this lodge is fantastic, however there is zero maintenance. It has gradually deteroriated over the last 30 years. Food choice is very limited & service slow & buffet timings not maintained. Basic provisions like tea kettle are not provided. The GM informed renovation was sanctioned in 2017 - however they plan to start the same only in April 2022 ! Sad portrayal of RTDC.
Bharatpur Forest Lodge is now run by RTDC and situated in an absolutely serene environment. I booked it online for 4 days during August '19. The hotel is about 1.5km inside the park from the entry gate. The first floor room, bathroom and linen were clean. Available furniture were alright. Lightng was ok. The attached balcony was also excellent to watch sunset and birds. It was nice to wake up in the morning listening to chirping of the birds. There is a moderately maintained lawn with swings where children can enjoy. You may find there many birds in the morning. The staff were courteous, helpful and ready to share info. However, the piped water was hot almost through out the day during August. The bar was defunct. Only Doordarshan was available on the TV. Personally I did not feel very bad about all these shortcomings, as my basic intention was birding. The biggest problem I faced was booking park visit ticket everyday from the ticket counter near the entry gate 1.5km from the hotel. You have to manage someone who will get the tickets for you.…
Stayed at Forest Lodge from 27-Oct till 29-Oct, 2019 with family :- Our observations :- 1. Very quiet place. Rooms are comfortable. 2. Staff was helpful and courteous. 3. Complimentary Breakfast - Limited choice and that too no buffet system was available. So if any additional quantity was required, same was not available. This was not the case in MP Tourism / Garhwal Vikas. Even in Ranthambore buffet was available. 4. No concept of full chicken dishes - one had to go for dishes with 4 pcs each. 5. Surrounding areas like lawns etc needs a dramatic uplift. 6. Cars should be allowed to go out of the Keoladev premises on need basis and should be charged once. Presently they are charged Rs. 100/- per entry. So if you need to go out twice a day, you have to shell out Rs. 200/-. 7. Cycles for hire should be better maintened. Overall a decent stay at a quiet place. You may get a better bargain outside of the sanctuary but you will also miss the howling of the jackals and flight of birds when they are here in winter. Location is the USP. Thanks & Regards. Surojit …
Location of hotel is in middle of forest and is most suitable for visiting bird century. Staff is very courteous and helpful. Quality of food is average and cleanliness is also average and same can be improved by slight efforts
The location of place can't be better , right in forest. Nice people BUT very poor quality of maintenance. Wish if this was managed professionally. One can watch wild animals like deer and neelgai ( bluebull) from room.
We stay there for 1 night and the experience was good enough. The hotel staff was polite do the services on time like we need to boil baby milk bottles and they do as we wanted every time and without any specific explanations. The room and washroom were clean.
The forest lodge is the most convenient place to stay if you want an early start for bird watching at Koealdeo. Don’t expect a palace or you’ll be disappointed but with good hot water, big bathroom, lovely balcony and comfortable bed, this hotel has all basic, although somewhat aging , facilities. The foot in the restaurant is more than adequate and the staff are friendly and obliging. Hire Baney Singh as a guide for at least two days and your stay will be perfect. If you’re serious about birds don’t stay for anything less than three nights. Visit the little temple in the late afternoon to see the priest feed the deer, monkeys, porcupine and turtles. Flick him a few rupees to help him buy food for the animals.
Bharatpur Forest Lodge is the only place of stay inside Keoladeo National Park for common public. The booking of rooms are through online mode of RTDC site. The Lodge is a decent one with rooms are having attached Bathroom, intercom telephone, Double Bed. As per requirements, one can request for extra bed also. All rooms have personal Balcony. These Balconies open towards Forrest. Infact, early in the morning, sitting in Balcony itself may delight you with the antic of various birds. Forest Lodge has its own restaurant which serves basic non -vegetarian and vegetarian food. Its dining hall is decently big but service is pathetically slow. May be it is because of the nature of employment of its waiter n cooks ---- all are Government Employee. Its bar is non functional. However, the Lodge has lot of 'Barwares' and ready to supply it to your room. Though Lodge is located inside Forrest, however, for getting entrance tickets of Sanctuary or hiring Cycle/Rickshaws; every time you have to go to Sanctuary's Main Entrance Gate. The Main Gate is almost 2 km away from the Lodge. Also, if you are traveling in your own vehicle, you have to pay INR 100/- every time to enter from Main Gate for going towards Lodge. The parking place of Lodge is small and may park maximum of ten vehicle at a time. The room rents are high and not in commensurate with the service this Lodge offers. It seems hotel is over staffed by managerial variety. Overall, except for the location, the Bharatpur Forest Lodge can be skipped for stay. There are quite a few Homestay and hotels outside the sanctuary which are nearer to Main Gate.…
Best Location if visiting Bird Sanctuary. Average room , Average food, Polite and courteous staff. Bedsheets and Towels were clean n almost new. No wifi. Resort is short of state funds to maintain the premises. It was pleasure to see deers at times in resort premises below room balcony. Plenty car parking space.
