We stayed three nights at Iora in October 2018.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and I am full of praise. It was comfortable, clean, and well maintained. It is conveniently situated for the bird sanctuary. The food was of a high quality and everyone was efficient, friendly and

My wife and I arrived in Bharatpur by train from Delhi and were met by the usual multitude of tuk-tuk drivers all vying for our trade. Taking the first in line we were whisked off, weaving through the colourful, hectic streets to the Iora Guesthouse. And what a delight it was! Se

A great stay from start to finish. Don’t let the approach road put you off. The Guesthouse is instantly recognisable as it is festooned in flowers and plants, showing care and attention, a hallmark of our stay.
The rooms are simply furnished but spotless and the bathroom/wet room

Our stay at the Iora Guest House was simply lovely from start to finish. We arrived after a day long trip from Varanasi, and were welcomed into a ground floor room with two singles, with good bathroom facilities (we had both hot water and loo roll) and a strong fan. Despite the l

Large simple rooms, very clean, very nice meals, very good advices, helpful staff: I enjoyed it so much that I decided to forget my stay in Agra and visited Taj Mahal from here ! There is much more to do in the area than visit the park (which is anyway a must do) !

I have plans to halt at this guest house and then may be make a day trip to fatehpur sikhri and return or else go direct to agra..I would want to know hw fa is te bus stand from this guest house, whether there are buses to make the day trip to fatehpur sikhri to and back to bhratpur and also if there are buses to go to agra from bharatpur..what kind of buses ..the fare ...time taken to reach those places ..and what about reserve cabs
We stayed there for three days and spent most of the time in the bird sanctuary. Not sure about the bus facility. From Bharatpur railway station we paid appx Rs 100 to reach this place. Mostly it may cost you similar to reach the bus stand,

Is this location worthy to stay and enjoy the bird watching and photography. How I would be able to go inside for bird watching.
The Keoladeo National Park, which has thousands of birds, is a short distance from the Iora Guest House. The guesthouse owner is an avid birdwatcher and photographer and full fo wonderful advice. You can take an auto rickshaw to the park, or even walk. And then you can walk or rider through the park itself. I wrote about it on my blog which is called leggypeggy. You can search there for Keoladeo. Hope that helps. Cheers Peggy

How much notice in advance do you need if we would like a non-vegetarian evening meal? Also, may we bring our own beer?
You can bring your own Beer ; that will not be an Issue. Regarding Non-Veg Food - give them a notice at least 3-4 hours in advance since they prepare food fresh . Hope that helps , Thanks..
