Fantastic hospitality by the whole team. Highly recommend this place. Walking distance to the bird sanctuary, rooms are comfortable, great hot water, and they even provide packed breakfast for you to take into the park. Reasonably priced too.

While visiting Bharatpur Bird sanctuary you need to reach the sanctuary as early in the morning as possible so you can spend more time inside and to skip the afternoon heat, hence its best to stay as close to the sanctuary as possible. Moreover we didnt want to spend money on a property we would barely stay in for 6-7 hours. We drove down from Agra, reached Bharatpur around 8pm and then 6am we were out for the sanctuary. Its a clean, safe hotel with good food. Our heater wasnt working and they fixed it instantly
Food was superb - home style, served hot, good quality, hygienic and unlike the oily hotel food. Good enough options
they also gave early breakfast as they knew people want to leave early for sanctuary
the manager gave all the information and advice with respect to the cost of rickshaws, how much time to spend etc

During a brief birding trip to Chambal that was organised for me by my friends Praveen Vashistha and Peter Lobo, a night halt was organised at Hotel Sunbird, literally a stone’s throw distance from the signature sanctuary of Bharatpur, the Keoladeo National Park. With a view to give myself one evening session of visiting this famous park with the guide assigned to me for this Chambal trip, Ghanshyam Singh, I reached the hotel at about 2 p.m. Warmly received by the front office staff in a simple yet snug office, I was ushered to my room that turned out to be a wonderful mix of tradition and modernity. “Very spacious and pleasing” were my first thoughts as I entered the room. Floral artwork on the ceiling and the walls gave the room a royal character. The décor of the room was done in good taste yet subtle, the furniture was just perfect, linen freshly laundered and washroom squeaky clean.
Staff of the hotel was very caring with the warmth that so characterises everything about Rajasthan. They were quick to respond to each and every one off your calls. Must compliment Mr Laxman Singh, the owner, for grooming the staff so well.
Whenever I come back to Bharatpur, I am sure to come back to Hotel Sunbird as my chosen destination for the stay.

Was there recently as a part of study group. First of all tosay a few things about Bhratpur Sanctuary. A great place to go to indeed. We were there in Jan'20 and could get to see over 100 different species of migratory birds. Just amazing ! Forest also has presence of Fox, Deers..... Would recommend a visit for all nature lovers. Since I drove down, not much conversant with Air or rail connections. Also close by are tourist spots like Fatehpur Sikri, Agra.
Talking about hotel we had an excellent stay. Great Location- you can walk down or take cycle rickshaw( one must bargain here) to the main gate of the Keoladeo Sanctuary. Hardly 10 min walk.
Top Food and Service (I would put 'exceptional: for service) Very good large room (we had booked their Luxury room). Food especially I loved it. There as a heater in room as conditions were very very cold. Very nice courteous staff with knowledge of surroundings. Full marks. Will surely stay again and recommend.

Very warm and hospitable staff. Mr Laxman Singh upgraded us to the cottages which was much appreciated. A beautiful courtyard with banana plants and other foliage really improves the ambience. They took excellent care of my elderly parents including bringing their meals to them at their room because they weren't able to walk up the stairs to the dining room.
Good choice of food in the dining room that my wife (who avoids spicy food) was able to enjoy as well. The staff is also happy to provide a packed breakfast, which allowed us to get an early start on our birding trips. The proximity of the hotel to the Keoladeo National Park is excellent and we were able to get rickshaws for the park right outside the hotel.

A small privately owned hotel, located a short walk from the Bird Sanctuary...the rooms are quiet and the food is great. We were leaving Bharatpur by train and the owner took us to the station himself. When we discovered the train was running 3 hours late, he took us back to the hotel for an evening meal and then stayed with us at the station until 10.30pm to make sure we were safely on the train. Now that really is service!

Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. Below are the positives: 1. Very close to the bharatpur bird sanctuary. Walking distance. If you want to make more than one visit. Best location. 2. Great hospitality by the entire team lead by Lakshman ji. 3. Hygiene was very effective. (In covid times) 4. Huge rooms with all basic amenities required. 5. Homely food.
What could have been better: Nothing really to be honest. However, below are the few areas of improvement: 1. The buffet may be priced slight lower depending on the spread. 2. A list of all the dish tv user IDs along with the room no. Will help the staff in recharges.
Overall a great experience. If u are not looking at a palace kind of stay (laxmi vilas), go for it.
In covid times, service might be slow, but u need to understand and empathize with whatever staff they can deploy. They give their 100 percent. At the end ott the day attitude matters which is excellent.

We travelled in group for photography and stayed here for 3 nights. The staff here are good and helpful. Food provided is good and freshly prepared. The rooms are cottages and rooms in a building. I stayed in the cottage as I was alone traveller. The rooms was with all basic amenities ( nothing luxurious) and heater which was really helpful. Bathrooms are spacious and average clean. It has 24 hr. Hot water which is needed in winters. The hotel arranged the travel to park and the cycle Rikshaw wala are good with lot of knowledge about birds. The owner is very kind and helpful. They provided hot food at the temple area in the park.
I liked the stay for the purpose we came to Bharatpur.

I have been stayed in this hotel multiple times. This is an excellent place to stay because of its proximity to the park, quality of service and food. The hotel is very professionally managed with attention to small details. The warm welcome on arrival and quick check in process is truly amazing. The rooms are elegant, well appointed and functional. For a photographer the rooms offer plenty of space for your equipment and enough charging points. The owner, Laxman ji, personally interacts with the guests and makes them feel at home. He is extremely knowledgeable about the sanctuary and birds. He is also very knowledgeable about photographic equipment. The food is amazing and reminds one of home cooked food. The dining area is spacious and elegant. As I used to visit the park early in the morning, my breakfast was packed and kept ready at the reception at 6.15 am. This is really great as no photographer would like to miss reaching the park before sunrise (the Sanctuary opens at 6.30 am in winter). There is hot water in the bathroom 24 x 7. The Wi fi is excellent and immediately on arrival you are given a welcome slip with all wi-fi passwords. The entire staff is very well trained and extremely courteous. I was particularly impressed with the ever smiling and helpful manager Mr Dharmendra Singh. He is very positive and helpful. The staff is resourceful and helps you with local transport as well as transport to take you back to Jaipur or Delhi. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

I had a wonderful time at Hotel Sunbird. The rooms are very comfortable and excellent with all the facilities that one could ask and wish for. Moreover, the location is great and very close to the Keoladeo National Park (Bharatpur bird sanctuary) main gate so it hardly takes less than 2 minutes to get to the National Park. The owner - Laxman ji - is a great host and is very passionate about bird photography himself. The staff members are very courteous and go out of the way to ensure you have a comfortable stay especially Dharmender. Highly recommended
