First stay at Ritz Plaza. Wonderful hotel, one of the few still with old world charm. Situated on Mall Road, Great location, amenities, breakfast in the Foyer, was special. Our stay was absolutely perfect, the rooms fabulous and the customer service really wonderful. Shikha was so helpful with our reservation and requests. Just a suggestion. Need some improvement in housekeeping. Our room's Tea kettle lid was broken and dirty and tea tray was not properly clean. Our check-in was smooth and fast. Kiran and a male staff at check-in time were very welcoming. They made us feel welcome from the minute we arrived until we left.

The rooms are neat & clean. Good to stay . The quality of food served at the restaurant is average. If you want the guest to eat Lunch and Dinner at hotel's restaurant, you need to improve the quality of food served at the restaurant. The menu prices are too high need to be reviewed.

The Ritz has clothing, banks, money transfer, meat/veg food, cinema, KFC!, Massage parlours etc.. within 5 minute walk! (Beware of dogs at night), this is typical of this city, but the hotel staff were very helpful and organise transport. (The resturant was not great - just the basics)

Stayed there from 17th to 26th February. From the very first minute we entered the hotel, from the Porter to the Manager, everyone was so helpful. From the kitchen staff and all support staff were to quick and helpful towards all of our needs. We were very fortunate that they were able to accommodate of the menu requests for meals. Due to our early flight time homes, we asked he Manager for a packed breakfast for us to take with us which turned out to be outstanding. The rooms were serviced and cleaned to an exceptional standard. Extra pillows were supplied in minutes.

The Manager, Nitin Sharma, and his staff were 1st class. I highlights recommend this hotel to all travellers.

To start off, we booked directly through the website of the hotel and being a packed weekend between 12-14th August, the charges were 6000 per night. We had booked for 3 persons in one room and pre-paid for an additional bed. Upon reaching the hotel, the room they showed us a tiny room where all the bedding and linens were ridden with dirt. Upon bringing it up with the management, they said that no one had complained of this and this was standard. We sought for a refund and cancellation, which was flatly refused. They offered a slightly bigger room which had views of trucks (since they cater to airlines for food). The room was dimly lit, bedding linen was rough and old, the extra bed was a manjha with a mattress so thin it barely counted as one. The bathroom did not have a functioning geyser, exhaust fan or shower. The room is centrally conditioned and there is a fan which made excessive noise. Pool was not functioning and even lounge was not operational. Overall, it was not worth 12000 for two nights (breakfast excluded), don't go by the pictures shared online. The hotel is in severe need of renovation.

This is the worst hotel I have “EVER” stayed at. We had booked 2 rooms. The first one had mound and cockroaches which we had to change with in an hour and the second one had a bathroom flooding issue without a fix in three days. One night my daughter was really sick and had to use the bathroom at 5 am and they couldn’t send anyone despite multiple calls and the bathroom remained flooded without a fix and she couldn’t use it.

Even that is you think could be bad luck that we got two terrible rooms but wait that’s not the only issue, we had a double bed (king bed) allotted to our room, the way the mattress were they kept sliding outwards creating a ridge between the two. Making us fall in it in the night every few hours.

I would not return to this hotel even if they gave me free nights. And the staff were horribly shameless. They hung up the phone when I called the third time to ask for some one to at least clean the bathroom. Ugh... and no money returned.

And lastly WiFi didn’t work.

I had an awful experience in there hotel. Their pool & bar aren't operational but on the booking websites they've mentioned "Pool will be operational from 1st April till 30th sept". I wanted a short relaxing weekend there. That's why, I chose this property but nothing fancy in this hotel apart from their overpriced food which is average in taste. Their small park isn't well managed too. You'll see big trucks and buses all around the property. I felt like staying in a garage instead of a 4 star property. 😂

PS: I'd recommend you to book a 3 star property instead if you're looking for a room/food only hotel for your stay. You will get better options in the same price range with better amenities.

They call me at 6:30 am to see when I was checking out I was angry and complain but they continue asking me when I was checking out after an argument with 4 managers because of the check out situation so I finally left the hotel and went same place else. Much of the food stated on the menu is not available and what we did eat was second rate. I would not return to this hotel which is a shame because it looks like it was once a great place. I stayed at two hotels in Amritsar, on two preceeding days to the one I stayed at the Ritz Plaza. One was the Lal kothi at raja sansi, by ITC group! I was not too happy as I was not looking for the standardised, monotonous, closeted, too formal and stiff westernised experience. I changed one hotel every day because I was looking for an authentic Punjabi hospitality experience while offering the touch of good class, which I finally got at the Ritz Plaza, complete with the yummy Amritsari dinner and breakfast. The vast lawns full of mango trees, the framed tapestries on the walls and the original building instead of the glass and chrome laden other hotels, lend it the rich, old world Punjabi air and charm. In addition, it is situated in a very calm, stately neighborhood, in the heart of Amritsar.

The staff is seasoned, kind of family, who seem to have stayed with the hotel their entire career and that gives, the real, warm, loyal, relaxed Punjabi vibe! The MD, luckily happened to be around and he personally took the feedback and got a few things set right although the entire team is very professional and extremely good.

One more suggestion to the management would be to please maintain the originality of the property, which they have done successfully till now.

Keep it up! All the best!! Thanks..

We stayed at this hotel as part of a package, supposed to have a quiet, superior room. Had loads of traffic noise all day and night until the early hours of the morning. Pidgeons on all window ledges, nesting and noisy all day. Bed was really comfy, and room was clean, but room was freezing cold, heating didn't work, and we had no hot water. Someone was supposed to come to remedy but someone turned up with a bottle of water?? We eat in the restaurant which was good, but loads of renovations going on so lots of hammering and banging, and an overwhelming smell of paint and varnish. Wifi not good, then they only give you a code for 6hrs. Could be a lovely hotel, but needs lots of improvements.
