Golden Sarovar Amritsar is a great hotel located 15 mins away from Golden Temple by cab. Uber is safe and easily available.
The reception staff is very warm, welcoming and accommodating. Shout out to Abhimanyu and Davinder at the front desk were very helpful to us to advice places to eat, visit, best travel times, etc. The bell boys and other staff are very helpful as well. My sister and I went out alone and returned later than expected and they actually called us to check if we were safe and okay - real concern is heartwarming.
The rooms are comfortable, very good standards and definitely classy for a small city like Amritsar. The housekeeping is prompt and can provide most basic amenities needed.
The hotel was very accommodating and allowed us a late checkout since we had an evening flight.
Amritsar to our family is all about the Golden temple and the FOOD!! Make sure to eat at the local dhabas, the reception will provide you recommendations.
The only suggestion would be that the food for room service is rather expensive but honestly, if you’re in Amritsar, you wouldn’t want to eat in - Go out and fill up on Chole Kulche loaded with butter with hot kadhai doodh.

We stayed nearly four weeks here and already with the beginning there was a really good feeling. People at the entrance extremely polite, at the desk very competent and helpful. We highly appreciated the Happy Hour beers every afternoon at the roof bar (especially thanks to AZIZ Mondal and all the others) after our business, we enjoyed very much breakfast and dinner everyday (especially thanks to Sajamal and all the others), the cooks provided us with constantly changing excellent food and last but not least the room service convinced by reliable cleaning
(especially thanks to Manpreet Singh and all the others) the well equipped room. The fact that there is a well equipped gym was very helpful for not to grow too much because of the food. Changing the room because of disturbing technical noises wasn’t a problem at all, and for loud guests the hotel is not to blame. In total we did enjoy our stay and can recommend Golden Sarovar Portico for everybody.

Stayed at S.P between 22-25 Jan'20. Had an amazing experience right from check in to check out. Mr.Sukhwinder Singh at the reception desk welcomed us with a welcome drink, did our smooth check in, also considered our request for a room on a higher floor. The Security staff greets you with a smile and folded hands whenever you enter or exit. The rooms are cosy & comfortable for a couple. Breakfast quality & variety is good. Priyanka, Sunil, Ashok takes care of all the guest in restaurant with a smile & they are on their toes and eager to assist. Room service was very quick & prompt, you dont need to call twice for anything. Lastly, a big Thanks to Vaishali at reception, on our check out and while on way to airport, we forgot one of our mobile, she recognised it & immediately called us & so we could come back & collect it. Thanks Vaishali. Overall a wonderful experience. Would prefer to stay at SP whenever I visit next. Excels in hospitality + Value for money = Peace of mind.

A very clean and comfortable hotel in Amritsar. We are very surprised, it was our first stay in India (we are coming direct from Delhi!) and we feel very well. Definitely we would ever come back.
The main thing, like in every hotel, is the service! Here it is excellent. We are not able to name all staff members, but special thanks to the restaurant assistants Sajamal and Jiarul representive for all restaurant and kitchen staff.
The Food is mainly Indian, very tasty, compliments to the kitchen colleagues! We love it!!
Many special thanks to Mr. Prince from reception!

It was my first visit in Amritsar , I had booked my stay at Golden Sarovar Portico through Agoda, and I must say it was worth the price I had booked it for.
Pros -
Clean , Hygienic rooms
Very corporate and helpful staff
Good food With economical pricing
Centrally located with a lot of eateries, nearby
The only draw back would be that the rooms look very big in pictures but are smaller than that , size of bathrooms are small and there isn’t a view from the superior rooms so that is there only .
Their superior room is comfortable for one person , alright for a couple but not recommended for families or with children.
A special mention to one staff in the food section , NEHA, she has been a wonderful host since the time she served food. Very cooperative, helpful and took care of the likes and dislikes.
Food was served fresh even in the wee hours.
Neha was very warm and welcoming.
A recommended option for short visits 👍🏻

Very nice welcome by the bell boy Narjeet. Later on the reception people were very courteous to explain all the facilities of the hotel and places of attraction nearby. Room was absolutely crisp and clean. Restaurant food was good.. Although you can find lots of eating places nearby which are more cheaper and you can find a lot of variations. Overall I can say that stay was very good and comfortable.

Basic clean accommodation, rooms or small washroom area. Slightly cramped but the overall service by staff really made up for these defects. Asked for an extra bed. It was delivered in a whisk, reception, staff was very accommodative. Asked for a wake up. Call was deliver right on time. No complaints. Breakfast was fine with acceptable variety. Bakery items could do some improvement.

We went here for lunch, it took us 20-25minutes by cab. There's no parking and the lanes are really narrow.
Yes they do have a bidet spray. And a shower too.
If you are looking for authentic Amritsar food, I would recommend Kulcha Land and Chungi Da Kulcha. Both of them are pretty close to this hotel.
Road facing rooms like 401 would be best room
