Detailed Reviews
Small homestay that is very cosy and tucked away in the mountains. The view from our deluxe room was beautiful and changes throughout the day from sunrise to sunset.
The facilities were sufficient for a small hotel.
The service was exceptional from a small number of staff, we were greeted with a smile and a nod with every interaction.
Food menu was small, but sufficient with variety. Taste was good but don’t expect too much with restaurant quality.
Transport may be a challenge as there is a small path of beaten road leading up to the property. Additionally it is around 12 kms from centre of Munnar, so expect to pay for motors between locations at an average of 400+ rupees.

What do you I say about this hotel. I just checked out yesterday from this hotel. It's just wow when it comes to the view. You get 2 views in one room. Both mountain view and tea garden view. Amazing value for money with regards room size, amenities, cleanliness and hygiene. Let me tell you about the staff. Anand (Manager), Ajit and Aravinth were super hospitable. These guys can can anticipate your requirements and organise for things that you would not even expect in the blink of an eye. All of them are nice people in the hotel including the aunty who was cleaning, the small kid who cleared plates and the old man in the kitchen. Thank you guys for the amazing hospitality.

Excellent location with mountain view and top floor view of tea estates is mesmerizing during breakfast and dinner with the mist descending into the valley. Breakfast is your choice and prepared home style with choices for each day. The manager Arvind was very helpful in arranging for trips around and into Munnar. Breakfast was very tasty and so was dinner prepared in their kitchen

We did a 7 days 6 nights vacation to Kerala, with Munnar being our last stop - I have to say it felt like we saved the best for last! We travelled from Thekkady to Munnar via Gap road (which is a longer route but well worth it for the views along the way). Even after seeing such extensive view of the tea gardens on the way, we were pleasantly surprised to the warmth and mesmerizing views from Gruenberg tea Plantation Haus offered. It has amazing views right from the windows and balcony of the room and even better 360 view from their roof top dining area. They have just 5 rooms or so (with all practical amenities) which gives it a homely environment (rather than a big hotel). Special mention to Anand and Arvind who were caring, courteous and made my mother and I feel very welcome. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who want to get up to the spirit of Munnar while you are there and are not particularly keen on a "Fancy" hotel experience.

+1
The hotel/house is located at a very nice place surrounded by hill on one side and tea plantation on the other side. The rooms are very cozy and view from the room is awesome. You can do small trekking through the routes within the tea gardens. Whole three days we were mesmerized by the whistling of Malabar whistling thrush.
600m from the main road to the hotel is narrow and non concrete but not an issue to travel by big car (mine was Ertiga).

Grünberg Tea Plantation House is not a tea plantation, but a house in a tea plantation. Walking through the tea plantations is not permitted.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
There is a beautiful covered roof terrace with a view.
Unfortunately, there is a lot of construction going on all around and the view of a huge high-voltage line spoils the view.
Unfortunately, Grünberg is not signposted anywhere and is not so easy for taxi drivers to find.
The large rooms are modern but a bit shabby. (Indian, after all)
Food can be ordered in the hotel, and a rich breakfast is served on the roof terrace.
There are no restaurants around, more Indian snack bars.
You can take a nice hike to Anchal and the surrounding area.
(see komot)
You can actually only get there by taxi.

Visited second time, this is one of my favorite stays in munnar because of the service, food, plantation rooms and the best rooftop sitting arrangement. Veg food is really good. The staff is very helpful, humble and smiling always. Very comfortable stay.

We stayed here for a couple of nights in October. Unfortunately, there was loud music in the evenings and we had stained sheets and towels. The first morning we didn't have any hot water either. It was run by some very nice smiley lads but they didn't really understand what was required for a good homestay.

This place is clean with great views of the tea plantations and mountains. We had a lovely small veranda as well. Showers were hit and staff very helpful. Sri the manager made sure our stay was very comfortable. The morning trek was complementary and a great way to see the environment. The rooftop balcony was lovely.
