Ambady Estate is just before the main city of Munnar. It is situated on a tea and cardamom plantation and we were surrounded by nature all the time. It is a very welcome break for the life of a city dweller. You can hear the birds chirping in the morning and various insect noises at night. The cottage was big and airy, food was quite good and freshly made. You can walk around the estate as much as you want taking in the fresh air and the greenery. The only disadvantage of staying here is going to the main city becomes a little tough. Though if you arrange a cab, you can go for sight-seeing quite easily. When I'm going to Munnar again, this is where I'm going to stay. It's highly recommended if you like nature and quiet surroundings.

Stayed here for 4 Days and 3 nights and it was an amazing experience. Here is my detailed review-: Location: Located around 10 km before Munnar and is easy to reach. Although the actual property is around 1 KM away from the main road and has a steep road with few curves. We were with our driver so did not find an issue although one may face some challenge to drive through. Ambience: Amazing lush green place with a huge plantation of cardamom. One of the finest place to stay at Munnar if you are looking for an accommodation that is peaceful, away from city and yet beautiful. One can sit at the backyard (with every cottage) for hours, literally hours. I was in love with this place. Cottages: They have 8 cottages and 2 cottages are attached (with common wall) and shares the same seating area (backyard). So you may have to cope with other guests as well. Although we were just alone for 2 days and it was so amazing! I loved the design of the cottages, You wont feel it as India as soon as you see them. Beautifully crafted and feels like heaven. Although as every place this too needs a bit of maintenance, wall paints were off at some places and door latches needs a bit of alignment. This shouldn't be a problem but I just wanted to highlight. Staff: Excellent and courteous staff Although you may find it difficult to communicate as one of them only understands few English words and no Hindi. One of them is fluent in Hindi so was great for us. The GM (Sorry I forgot his name) was a happy soul, super helpful and cares for his guests. Food: Food was above average for me. Wont consider it very great but was descent. Although worth mentioning that the single portion is adequate for 2 pax So please order accordingly, We did not know and ended up wasting so much food. Tip: Do not take a lunch/dinner package if they are not serving buffet. The food prices are quite reasonable (compared to metro cities) and including it in a package is not worth (if not served as buffet) Positives: They offer you a free walk to their Cardamom plantations (It is tiring if you don't workout) and also walk you through the process of preparing coffee and cardamom (to be sold in market). Overall a great place and a great experience to be with your loved ones. Usually other hotels charges you for morning tea and coffees if you order one separately in rooms, but they did not which for me is a good gesture. Negatives: Since there are so many trees, so you may have to share your room with some bugs/spiders. For us there were 2 big spiders (really big) in the room which I got rid of by capturing them in a polythene bag and freeing them outside. No objections with the hotel management its an encounter that may happen. The place may seem spooky at night again due to its location and lack of maintenance of backyard bulbs. Overall an excellent place to stay at if you are a nature lover!

We stayed for 7days and 8nights in Ambady Estate. A much-needed break after 2 years. The location and Ambady Estate lived up to the reputation. A combination of a few factors made this memorable for us...fantastic location, super attentive and kind team, WONDERFUL food. Special mention Mr. Baiju, reservation process couldn't have been more smooth and professional, he was kind and gracious to answer all my questions. He resolved some reservation concerns I had and he ensured that all my questions were answered - his attention to detail and customer service had a tremendous impact on the quality of our entire stay. Special mention to Mr. Mahendran, an extremely friendly and knowledgeable person who made our trip worth remembering. Our housekeeping attendant Sudha went out of her way to ensure our room was neat, tidy and an inviting environment that made us feel calm and well-rested the day ahead. Special thanks to the chef, room service staff, and the gentleman leading from the front...Kudos to you all and keep up the great work!!! It ended up being the most fantastic vacation that I ever had. Thank you, Ambady team...Can't wait to visit again :)

We had a lovely stay in a twin cottage. The cottage is designed pleasantly with sitting area separate at a higher level than the bed. It had a balcony for kids to explore. The overall ambience was superb. The cottages, the mist & the vegetation made the location almost magical. They cultivate their own spices which is evident in the food. The staff was very courteous & willing to help in any ways possible. The only downer was the almost persistent rain which prevented us from exploring their plantation. Would do a follow-up visit for it later soon.

Excellent service and wonderful cottage. Very lovely hospitality by the staffs. Food was fantastic and delicious. Especially the fish fry and breakfast (buffet). Will suggest to friends and collegues. Worth spending nights there. They are having their own plantation where we can have morning walk. Safe and best. Will visit again. ❤️👌

This is a wonderful place. Our cottage could not have been more comfortable. The food in the restaurant was presented professionally and was excellent. The walks in the estate grounds full of interest. The giant Malabar squirrels were a revaluation. All the staff were very helpful. We spent two nights and would have been delighted to have stayed longer.
