I visited this hotel today and the manager and others staffs were all ill mannered. Asked for one blanket, as we were 3 of us, refused us and yelled at us. Although we have booked it through make my trip for 3 people, he yelled and us and asked us for extra 400 rupees.
Royal retreat has a beautiful hill view and an awesome ambience. The food is reasonable and each of their dishes on the menu is great. (North Indian and south Indian cuisine available) Room service is very prompt. Deluxe room was very well maintained. Located close to Dam, Tea factory and chocolate factory. Enjoyed my stay here. Highly recommend this to others.
Pros: location is good. Walking distance from KSRTC bus stand. Ambience is average. Have a small garden in front which I liked. Breakfast was good. Cons: 1.I called reception and asked for drinking water. They didn't serve. They didn't attend phone calls for follow up the requirement. 2. TV was not working. I had to ask twice to get them recharge the card. 3. Wifi is there but signal strength is so poor that I couldn't use it in room.. 4. I had an unpleasant welcome.
great experience while staying in February 2018 in royal retreat great ambiance with garden a front side and supportive staff. when we reached hotel it was raining and housekeeping staff made arrangement for express checkin to the room it was great to taste the
I came here with my boyfriend looking for room for the same night. Even though we got a room with a discount because we arrived late it was overpriced. The sheets were dirty and we could not find anyone to get new ones. It did not look like it had been changed after the last guest, and we ended up sleeping in our clothes. The bathroom smelled mold and the ceiling was covered in it. After we took a shower the entire bathroom was wet for the our entire stay, wich could maybe explain the mold... The next day we found a much nicer place 500 m closer to town at a cheaper rate.
Torn Sheets, Oily pillows, Broken Flush/Tap & broken chairs & filthy towels sum up my stay at this place with my family. You pay but you get a big ZERO in return. The only good thing is the outside garden.
Don't go by name "Royal", Nothing Royal in it. It's worst than any ordinary lodge. The standard room doesn't have even ceiling Fan. Only one electrical plug is available in the room.Service is very worst. Restaurant is even pathetic. We ordered Children Biryani & Got Veg-Pulav mixed with chicken gravy. Don't waste your money. They are charging around 3k per night, not worth it. Better to stay another 3 star hotel.
Hotel location and outside hotel environment is really good but staff is not soo friendly and they are very typical. Also food is not at all worth the price they charge. Overall for very short stay, this hotel is fine. Try to choose good hotels like shamrock in the same price range as this hotel
We stayed here for one night to explore Munnar. The location of this hotel is not great (2K) from the city but it's easy to walk through the tea fields. We ate dinner and breakfast and both meals were not as good as other places. Due to the location there's also not much choice when it comes to food. We had the impression to annoy everyone at the hotel by our presence. But it's OK for a short stay.
Rooms were good. Old and new rooms available. Always ask for tge new rooms which is clean and neat. Flower garden availabe in walkable distance. Town also near by. A very small loan is available within the hotel premisis.
