Hospedaria Abrigo de Botelho is a heritage business boutique property in the heart of Goa's only latin quarter. This is a 150 year old property complete with old-world charm of Goa and yet with all the modern day comforts that has been lovingly restored and converted into a heritage business B&B.It is an 8 room ground plus one Portuguese era house with its own cosy 1000 sqft. garden area.
The location of the guest house in the Fountainhas area of Panjim is in itself a big plus point. The moment you step out you are amidst the most beautiful part of Panjim with old latin style houses and quiet quaint streets. The guest house has a cozy and laidback feel to it. One could spend a few days just lazing, reading and chatting with the hosts. The hosts Mr and Mrs Roy are affable people. Mr Roy is an encylopedia on all that one can do in and around Panjim and Old Goa, whether it is to see, to dine, to drink or to hang out.

This is the place to be if you want to experience staying in a Portuguese era Panjim. The old architecture and furniture of this house give you a feeling of staying in a very well maintained Portuguese house. When you step out of the house the street is full of colorful houses which I believe are equally old as this house. It is situated just some 5 to 10 mins away (walking) from the Panjim bus station which makes commuting anywhere very easy. I visited this place with my husband and parents-in-law(who are both above 65 yrs old). Roy is an amazing host. He ensures that all his guests have a memorable stay here. He also gave us some very useful tips that saved our time and money both. Perfect place to stay in Panjim if you actually want to experience Panjim :)

This hotel is not a place to stay it's an experience to be felt. All credit goes to the wonderful host Roy. He is a genuinely good guy. He makes sure all the needs of guests are meet. He helped us plan our day which included places to see, places to have lunch and dinner, dishes to eat and so on. The hotel itself is piece of art. The rooms are big and neat. Place is very close to Panjim bus stand, all the good restaurants are near by. Property is well maintained. The rooms are having all amenities like locker, fridge, tea pot, towels, toileteries, TV and AC. They serve complimentary breakfast, which includes eggs, omlette, tea, coffee, cereal, fruits, buns and some snacks like vada or samosa. You may find the similar properties in Goa which offer same amount of comfort or…

I and my sister would like to thank the host (Roy and Sharon) for being so accommodative since the time we booked, during our stay and on check out. With all my travel across the globe, they r the best hosts and a perfect Bed & Breakfast to stay at. Everything is walking distance (bus stops, Market, stores, restaurants, much more to explore). The rooms / foyer area were perfect with Portuguese architecture, the beds were super comfortable. The staff were very helpful and courteous. The breakfast is simple yet so delicious, freshly made eggs, bread. Etc. To start your day with. Overall a fantastic experience and would 100% recommend for future travellers, who will not regret staying here. 10 on 10 for a perfect and enjoyable staycation. God bless.

Roy and Sharon were perfect hosts at this charming hotel, they were always there to help with day trip plans and restaurant recommendations. Our rooms were comfortable, clean and well stocked. Air conditioning was great. It is located in the old Portuguese part of Panaji which is picturesque. Best of all are the amazing breakfasts!

Goa is all about history and culture! And when you stay at a place like this you feel so welcomed and at home. Roy and his wife are two of the most simplest and humble people you will ever meet! They have put in so much effort to retain this historic house and worked well to provide comfort in all aspects. My post is coming almost after a year but my family has visited couple of times after my visit and they are so happy with each visit! It is well located, lot of grocery stores near by, good eateries and Panjim church is just a 10 min walk! Near by market place is also so convenient!

THE BEST PLACE TO STAY IN PANJIM! You cannot fault this beautiful place. Roy and Sharon make perfect hosts. They are friendly, kind, obliging, and warm - hearted. The rooms are comfortable, well equipped, extremely clean, and spacious. Breakfast is varied, tasty, and wholesome. The place is nicely located in the colourful, picturesque Fontainhas district, a few minutes walk from the heart of Panjim. This is the best place we have stayed in India, and we have been visiting the country about twice a year for 24 years.

Nice spacious room. We enjoyed our stay. Friendly owners. Breakfast was served in the small garden. We can recommend to stay here. The main church is at walking distance. The house is kept very clean and no shoes are worn inside which is very good.
