This was one of my favorite places we stayed in ghana. Beautiful secluded beach, open and friendly environment, and great staff. Keep in mind my 4 star rating is a rating relative to ghanain hotels at this price point. This would maybe be a 2 star hotel in the US. The rooms are really big for what you pay, though...

Out of all the places I stayed in Ghana, this one was undoubtedly the best. It takes a long time to get there but it's well worth it. After the dirt and bustle of Accra it's wonderful to go somewhere that is clean and quiet. The beach was absolutely gorgeous and the huts were very pleasant. The owner and the...

I have stayed here on five or more occasions now and also use it as a stop on a school trip tour of Southern Ghana with students from a world leading school. They love it and I love it. It is worth the drive down the road because once you get there, the seclusion, beauty and tranquility are priceless. The...

I had arrived in Ghana a few months prior and during the presidential elections, a large group decided to head over and see (since such rave reviews). We were able to hire a tro to get there (it was quite a blast, all of us. Nice little ride through the countryside. We arrived and admired the port toilets (privacy compared...

We went to the Green Turtle Lodge based on a recommendation of a friend. From a location point of view, it was absolutely worth to take the rather long and exhausting journey from Takoradi - 1.5 hours mostly on a bumpy dirt road. The location is idyllic, marvelous, astonishing: African huts in a garden of palm trees just by the...

... it comes very close here. We stayed here for two nights on recommendations from other travellers and thoroughly enjoyed it and wish we could have stayed for longer. To get to the place it is at the end of a very bad road, or maybe dirt track is a better way to describe it,(I'm amazed though taxi drivers are...

I had no problem with the lodging or services at Green Turtle. As a beach resort, it was fine. You know what you are getting with shared bathrooms etc and the bar is relaxed and fun. My beef is with their advertising themselves as eco protectors of sea turtles. The "educational tour" about the preservation of the sea turtles was...

Ah, nice sandy beach, blue sea, friendly staff and a relaxed attitude... What more do you want? Yes, it is a long way but it is worth it! We didn't go on the trip for the turtle watching, so I can't say more about it, but simply staying at this beach, enjoying the beautiful (ecofriendly) rooms and the funny staff,...

The journey here was nightmarish and nearly unbelievable for us, especially with a two two driver who didn't know this place. It was a 9 hour trip in all from Big Milly's (an hour outside of Accra), and the last hour or so was in the pitch blackness, on a deeply rutted, mud path with just one directional sign the...

I stayed here for 3 nights and initially was quite happy but when I went to pay my bill the rate was increased from 50 Ghc to 60 Ghc per night which was not what was agreed. Vegetarian food was very limited and there was a lack of guests which added to the lack of atmosphere. At night no lights...
