Highlight of trip to El Salvador. A beautiful hotel in a lovely town. Owner very friendly and helpful. Staff couldn`t do enough to make you feel welcome. Ambiance wonderful surrounded by top quality paintings and sculptures. By the way there is an excellent handicraft shop just across from the hotel. All in all spent a delightful few days in the...

Los Almendros de San Lorenzo is the sort of hotel—and Suchitoto is the sort of town—made for lingering, for whiling away days with aimless strolls, good food, lazy swims, and cold drinks in the courtyard. We came here after several days of hiking and eating in the western mountain towns, of riding old school buses and sleeping in cheap hostels,...

This hotel is full of character thanks to the taste and flair of the owners, who also run the art gallery across the road. Beautiful paintings and objects surround the courtyard which is a restful place to sit and enjoy the atmosphere, The hotel's beautiful Boston Terrier - Marcel also had bags of personality, We stayed 2 nights in the...

We just returned from a 10 day stay @ Los Almendros. My husband has been a guest there many times and loved every room he's been a guest in. On this visit ,I joined him and we stayed in one of the two floor rooms near the pool with a view of the mountains beyond the city. The owners also have a...

Travel to ElSalvador is quite safe except for a very few known gang areas in the capitol. We had a very pleasant week .We'd saw data about the hotel about 1 hour north of the capitol and decided it would be a great place to hang-out and see the lovely volanoes. The hotel translated "The Almond Tree" exceeded all expectations-so...

Be sure to include Los Almendros in any trip to Suchitoto. We only had dinner here since we wanted to stay directly on the town square and chose Las Puertas instead (see our tripadvisor review). The ambience sitting outside at our candlelit courtyard table was simply perfect. The homemade ravioli and Chicken Los Almendros were both delicious while the service...

Spent 2 nights in this hotel. Great service, room was immaculate, food in restaurant outstanding. Unfortunately staff put one of my knapsacks into a closet and I left without realizing this. Sadly it would cost too much to send back to me. Other than this unfortunate loss, my stay at the hotel was a very positive experience.

My first night in El Salvador was spent in Suchitoto at this wonderful hotel. It was one of the highlights of my trip. The setting and decor are beautiful. This is the type of hotel where you almost feel as if you're an invited guest at wealthy friend's hacienda. The owners are amazing and every single staff person I encountered...

Everything in my experience with Los Almendros de San Lorenzo was excellent. It was easy to reserve via email exchange with one of the two owners. While we were there, the staff and owner were always gracious and accommodating, e.g., taking time to show us around their beautiful inn and telling us about it and the Suchitoto surroundings. Everyone, including...

The owners of this restaurant -- one French, one Salvadoran (and the real owner, Lorenzo) have an amazing attention to detail and quality. The atmosphere is like an upscale hacienda with inside and external seating. The food is a fusion of French and Salvadoran delicacies. It's creative, fresh and will leave you stuffed. Try the appetizers and main courses. Don't...
