Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favourite
We have just returned to the U.K. having spent 2 weeks at the Alcazar and I was very impressed. The hotel was spotless throughout with well tended gardens and a really relaxed vibe.
We had a Beautiful room (we paid a bit extra and had a generous sized corner room) close to the beach and adults pool. Our housekeeper (Mohammed) was superb changing our beach towels every evening and ensuring our mini bar was stocked with our preferred stuff.
November is an ideal month to go as apparently all schools and colleges hold exams at that time, hence occupancy was @40%. This meant the restaurant booking was easy and loads of space poolside. We ate at buffet the night we arrived and after that a La carte every other night. Teppanyaki was good fun, sushi was excellent and the bbq kebabs at the Lebanese superb. Fav for lunch was the Seafood restaurant, just off the beach with a great breeze (special mention to Ahmed our waiter who looked after us every day and was excellent).
There’s a well equipped gym with a small outside pool down near the front gate. I like to walk after breakfast so would take the path at the beach which is about 5 miles through the other hotel areas. It’s quite quiet and you can use it to jog if so inclined. Like most hotels there’s also a long pier which is fun to walk and spot fish. It’s also used for snorkelling when the conditions allow. You can also wander out quite far in the shallow water so worth taking beach shoes.
Poolside service was excellent. Middle pool was “activity” and the music cld get a bit annoying. Suggest they turn it down when the restaurant adjacent is serving late breakfast as my wife and I cldnt hear each other. Top pool was huge and very quiet. Bottom pool was adult only and busy, but it was also the nearest for us.
Every day at breakfast or poolside we would encounter guest relations who would make sure any issues were sorted. Every morning and night the restaurants were visited by Operations Chief to ensure there were no issues. Every blue shirted manager we passed would always ask if we had any issues. Most impressive.
Some people were bitten by mosquitoes. Worth taking Jungle Formula or similar. My wife usually gets bitten but not this time. I got a few but they were quite benign. We had an upper room so maybe not such a problem? We were never bitten in the room or restaurants. Staff were out in evenings with mosquito zappers and spray. Saw some horrific cases when I was out walking through other hotels.
This was our first time in Egypt and would definitely return to this hotel in Sharm. Very relaxing, lovely rooms, amazing staff and good selection of restaurants. Highly recommended.

This was our first visit to Egypt, and I booked this hotel after reading the previous reviews. This hotel is by far the best all inclusive I have visited anywhere and I have been very fortunate and lucky to have visited a lot in previous years. The hotel is absolutely immaculate there are staff working all day to keep it clean and the gardens in pristine condition. The food here has been delicious! We only tried the Japanese and Italian restaurants along with the buffets but they were all lovely with loads of choice.
The best part of this hotel has to be the staff, everyone we saw was always really friendly, polite and helpful! I can’t remember everyone’s names, so I apologise, but Mohammad in the buffet remembered my drinks without me asking, and our housekeeper Hassan kept checking we had everything we needed, including if our minibar had what we wanted in it, and that my sons bed was comfortable enough.
The little touches around the pool and beach were fabulous, cool towels , fruit kebabs, mints and lots of drinks/water constantly been brought around. This hotel really deserves its 5 stars. Location wise it was only a 20 min trans from the airport and the hotel arranged a taxi very quickly one evening for us which wasn’t expensive and charged to our room for convenience (paid in dollars). There is a cash machine here so getting EGP was easy too.. I had a massage in the spa which was wonderful, I’d highly recommend! Thank you for a fantastic stay, I wouldn’t hesitate to come here again when I have the chance!

Steigenberger Alcazar Sharm is a Haven on the Earth. From the minute you step to the hotel until the minute you leave you feel like everything has been done just for you. A fantastic feeling of happiness, tranquility and a scent of East fairy tale never leaves you from the beginning until the end.
The place is unique and modern and you have a sensation that the hotel was designed in the way to satisfy all your all-possible needs. It seems like an every single detail in the interior and exterior Is a part of a big composition to make you feel on Heaven...
The hotel territory is huge, well maintained and spotless. There are so many things and activities to do that every guest could find its own niche and the best way of relaxation according to the interests: 3 outdoor swimming pools, aqua park, sport activities, beach walking, kids club, playground for kids, chess, gazebo land, art , bars and fantastic spa facilities.
I would like to say special thanks to Ayman who works in adult swimming pool for his excellent service and excellent work. He is very experience, palite and attentive to details.
The hotel rooms are very modern, well decorated and perfectly cleaned. The housekeeping of this hotel was above all my expectations. My room was cleaned every day before lunch time. It was absolutely spotless and all my clothes were nicely folded. I believe that this high level of service is a result of a great job of housekeeping management that does all the best to make your stay special and unforgettable. All housekeeping staff thank you for all your excellent work!!!
The hotel location is superb. It is surrounded by mountains and sea so you kind of have everything what you need. The hotel is just right on the beach. The beach is private and secured. You can walk there even during the evening time. The beach is sandy, clean and has plenty of loungers and parasols. The beach bar is open throughout the day.
Beverages are served all around facilities: lobby, pool and beach.
As regards to the restaurant, presentation, food qualities, personal service are amazing. The variety of dishes is unbelievable and all of them taste divine. The dishes always hot and well presented. I want to say thank you to all chiefs and assistances for their hard job
There is an excellent load and variety of food for all different ages and
preferences in the restaurant.
I also want to thanks to all waiting and service staff for the excellent and superb work and express my gratitude to Ibrahim the manager of Lebanese restaurant and the manager of Japanese restaurant for the brilliant service.
To finalize, all staff is really nice, polite an experienced.
Management does their best to give a special touch to the hotel.
One of the best and relaxing holidays I have been on, all thanks to the hotel.

We were very impressed with the high quality of both the hotel facilities and out standing service from all the staff.
The main restaurant buffet breakfast offers a fantastic choice of hot and cold breakfast from soaked salmon, eggs and omelettes cooked to order with an outstanding selection of fresh pastries, fruit and home made bread all served in a well appointed air conditioned dining area.
We were spoilt for choice with the five al a carte restaurants. But mainly ate in the Sanafir, Amoura and Limoni A La Carte restaurants. The standard was exceptional and offered high quality food.
Most of our days we spent at the adults only pool close to the beach front with Hensham offering refreshments and Alaa providing a great service throughout the day.
In the evening we enjoyed cocktails in the main bar with first class service from Samir.
The bedrooms were beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean unfortunately the partial sea view rooms which we booked at an extra cost was up six flights of stairs on the third floor with no lift. This we felt required pointing out when booking and paying a supplement.
We look forward to returning to the Alcazar for our next holiday.

I had high hopes from this hotel due to previous reviews and whilst the day to day staff do their best to make sure your happy there are some serious problems with the way problems in the hotel are dealt with. On 2 nights out of 7 we had little to no sleep due to a banging noise, initially i thought it was a banging door but after repeatedly calling to reception and them sending someone after 2 hours each night it turned out it was something on the roof area knocking in the wind (very loudly). We requested to be moved both nights to a quieter room to sleep but despite the hotel only being around 30% full we kept being told “no mam, we will fix the problem” only for the banging to continue. I have stayed in many 5 star hotels around the world and am sure any of those hotels would have simply moved us to another room without question. The room cleaner constantly let himself into the room despite the do not disturb notice being on the door in the daytime, and in the evenings he would stand outside the room if he wanted our attention and telephone the room to ask us to come to the door. Do not disturb should mean do not disturb!
I also developed a very upset stomach on day 3 after eating exclusively in the hotel. This has been the first upset stomach in 4 visits to Sharm.
It’s not all negative, the al cartes are really good and possibly the saving grace of the stay. The buffet is mediocre and food is warm not hot. Sun loungers are plentiful, but then the hotel was under occupied.
Cleanliness is a concern, all door handles look filthy and things appear to be surface cleaned and not thoroughly cleaned. Each morning the lifeguards hose down the pool area with water no cleaning agent and push the water around in an attempt to clean the tiles but all this does is make the floor dangerously slippery for everyone from around 8am to 9am. Really this needs to be rethought before someone breaks their neck. A soapy floor mop when the sun goes down as people retreat to their rooms is what other resorts usually do.
All in all the experience was somewhat disappointing for us. Compared to other Sharm hotels this one may be better in some areas but it’s not worth the cost we paid.

+1
My partner and I stayed here for 10 nights and one word sums it up… Amazing!
From the moment we arrived it was luxury, the entire stay all the hotel staff we met were polite and very attentive.
Adding to this we arrived late due to a delayed flight meaning we’d missed dinner, they happily offered to put together a cold plate for us and delivered it to the room.
The rooms are spacious and pristine with anything you’d need, there’s even a well stocked mini-bar with drinks and snacks all provided with the all inclusive stay and refilled daily.
The housekeeping team do an excellent job cleaning the rooms and it was often turned round between us going for breakfast and getting back to grab towels.
We didn’t visit all the restaurants but all the ones we did were great, food was amazing and again staff were on hand to bring more drinks when wanted. Special shout out to Waleed in the Zohreya restaurant, he looked after us the whole break and always greeted us with a smiling face every time we saw him.
The three pool areas were clean and tidy with plenty of sun beds, we tended to stay by the adult pool with it being the quietest of the three and again the staff team were great.
On arrival to the pool one came to set your towels out for you on the sun bed, usually within 30 seconds one of the bar team have brought you some water over and are taking a drinks order (by the end of the holiday drinks were brought out without needing to order)
Throughout the day they would also come round to clean your sunglasses for you, deliver cold towels then finally a fruit kebab in the afternoon.
The resort it pretty large in size however there are golf buggy’s that drive around all day where you can hop in and off at various parts, including the end of the pier if you fancy a dip in the sea.
Another nice small touch from the security guards as the main entrance gate, we arrived back after being out all day diving and was promptly offered a seat and they called the golf buggy’s to take us back to our room.
I’ve seen a few reviews mention the WiFi isn’t great. It’s not fast in comparison to at home however it’s more that suitable for sending those photos back home on WhatsApp or even watching a bit of YouTube. Generally speaking we had no issues getting connected anywhere in the resort.
The only complaint I can possibly think of is that Steigenberger Alcazar has set the bar that high I don’t know how I can possibly beat it for our next holiday.

This hotel was perfect. The whole experience was five star. We stayed for a week all inclusive as we wanted to have complete rest and relaxation in the sunshine. The food is outstanding, beautifully presented and so tasty in the main restaurant. If you wake up later than the set time for breakfast you can have a late one (great when travelling with teenagers!) There are six other restaurants to book into which were all delicious. We particularly liked the Lebanese one where they barbecue local delicacies and make fresh breads to order.
By the pool or on the beautiful beach you are literally waited on by a variety of staff bringing fresh drinks (even if you haven’t ordered anything they will regularly come round with a variety of delicious freshly squeezed juices) fresh fruit kebabs, sunglasses cleans, cold water spritz, ice lollies.. the list is endless!
The rooms are cleaned so well and all fridge/bar drinks are replaced daily free of charge.
The wine and Prosecco are lovely, very palatable.
Plenty of pools and beds, a variety of comfortable beds including doubles with curtains and family shelters on the beach with sofas and day beds. The setting and plants etc are beautifully well kept.
What a delightful week.

Myself and my wife spent a week at the end of February and enjoyed our getaway very much.
The Steigenberger Alcazar is a real 5 star resort of world class.
Located directly on the Sharm beach, this 600+ rooms resort offers all comforts for the lazy tourist who wishes to spend some time off the routine or the ingenerous weather of the Northern hemisphere.
The architecture of the complex is very nice, harmonious and you will never feel like in a hive as typically may happen is other more affordable large resorts.
The gardens and pools are just spectacular, maintained with meticolous care by a well equipped team.
The resort is very well staffed and personnell is nice and efficient : always greeted, always a smile...
Our room had seaview ( the price difference is worth) and it was large, well fournished and super tidy. The houskeeping was impeccable, never a grain of sand , nor a shadow : our housekeeper Ahmed also used to greet us with nice decorations every day..
Beach cabins are very comfortable and we were pampered with beach service offering drinks and clean towels.
We also enjoyed snorkeling at the tip of the beach jetty . Also here service is provided, including masks, life jackets and a fresh water shower to get salt off.
The Alcazar offers several Restaurants. Breakfast is served at the main restaurant and you can choose from a rich buffet and express cooking for your eggs, omelettes or pancakes. There are also several à la carte restaurants who serve dinner : our preferred was Almoura ( lebanese) and Sanafir ( seafood).
The food was always fresh and of good quality.
If you want to get pampered with a massage or hand/feet care, I recommend the Mivida SPA who offers a wide variety of services.
Customer Relations was very proactive about a few requests we made and we felt greatly welcome.
A place to come back, even if this implies to go through the... harrassment of the Sharm el Sheik airport personnell

This hotel and resort is located in a quite part of Nabq bay which suited us for the peace and tranquility. The hotel was beautiful the rooms extremely comfortable and very clean.
Our bedroom was a sea view and overlooked gardens and pools. It was extremely well equipped and beautifully decorated.
The food was very good with the option to eat every night at any of the 5 al carte restaurants.
Throughout our stay all the staff were very polite and accommodating, they were extremely helpful and friendly. An absolute credit to the resort, lovely people.
The only slight negative is the WiFi which is really not up to the standard of this exceptionally beautiful resort. Pls sort this out .
We will definitely visiting again next year.
Thank you to every member of your staff especially the waiters, room cleaner and security all were brilliant. They all made us feel at home and safe.

From the reviews we had seen we had great expectations however, they surpassed our wildest dreams. Having stayed at the Four Seasons twice previously I can honestly sat that the All Inclusive option at this hotel is the next step up. We stayed as a family of 3 adults for 11 nights in a Deluxe Family room (4037) with a swim up pool and terrace and Raulph kept our room immaculate throughout with daily replenishment of our minibar a plenty. The room was more than adequate for our needs and was furnished really well.
Whilst there are 3 pools we spent our time at the largest one which for most of the holiday appeared as though we had it to ourselves. The pool team and the bar staff from the Amoura restaurant looked after us really well with snacks, drinks and treats throughout the day.
All the restaurants were of a really high quality including the buffet at Zohreya. All offer Al Fresco dining however our favorite was the Japanese Teppanyaki which we had 3 times, a great show but also delicious food. All of the staff were really attentive and really wanted everyone to have a good time. Every lunchtime we went to the beach seafood restaurant, Sanafir, which served excellent food in a wonderful setting.
The Spa was amazing and Mohamed was really diligent in telling us about the various treatments but then showed really professionalism with his delivery (less the massages). His customer service was exemplary.
In summary, will be definitely be returning to this piece of paradise in Sharm. the location and hotel are immaculate, the weather amazing but more importantly the offering is exceptional (particularly the all inclusive) and delivered by staff that are passionate and focused about making you feel special. What more could anybody ask for?

We were there in march this year I believe middle and adult pools were heated but not the one nearest reception . The middle one definitely was .
One has a gentle slope so you can go in as deep as you like. I am 5'4" and can tip toe at the deepest part. I am not sure about the adult pool and the middle one but we loved the first one and it is never busy.
The previous answer is very comprehensive. Just to add to it. We didn't leave the site as it is really large but asked about safety and were told it was very safe and when we went out accompanied, you could see many people wandering around. When we went to the shopping centre and centre of Sharm on an excursion, we had free time and felt very safe.
