Lonely Planet is WAY out of date in relation to this hotel. There was no TV ( not that I care), no cafeteria so no option for breakfast, and NO hot water (I did have hot the first 2 nights, but it ranged from scalding to cold with no movement of taps from me). Arriving back from a long day...

This Hostal is centrally located in Riobamba, we stayed at this hotel before heading to Alausi for the Train to the Devil`s Nose. The rooms are wide, spacious and clean. The breakfast is very good prepared. Nice place to stay in Riobamba!

Tren Dorado is in a safe and quiet part of town that is also centrally located. The interior is lovely compared with the standard concrete exterior. Comfortable beds, reasonable price and you can pay 3 dollars more for breakfast. Close to most of the restaurants and bars on the Avenue

This is a very nice, clean Hotel, very close to the Train station. On the roof you can see Chimborazo and Tungurahua, if there are no clouds :-) The only downside is that there is no breakfast included. But thats not so much of a problem since there are lots of small little coffee shops around the corner. The Crepe...

The staff are very friendly and helpful and assisted me in renting a bus in the business next door. The room was clean though a bit small. The breakfast was poor however. It is a shame because a nice breakfast would have made the place go up a lot in my estimation. Its not a bad place in a town...

We decided to stay at this Hostel for 1 night before heading to Alausi for our Train ride. The rooms are big enough with great views of the city. The hostal is central located easy to walk around the city. The breakfast is tasty and the staff is nice!

Not a bad hostel - we booked a double room and it was clean and comfortable. However, we were in a room facing the street and it was very noisy. There was a power cut and the hot water and electricity was down for 2 hours. This wasn't the fault of the hostel but still inconvenient. If you stay here...

We come to Riobamba two or three times a year. We like this hotel because it is centrally located, clean, the owners are very friendly and we have always had a quiet room where we could have a good rest. After trying several hotels we decided this is the one we like best.
