We were part of the tren crucero group. This is a beautiful hotel and well run. Our room was comfortable and spacious. Note: because it is high up, the rooms do not have air conditioning. It turned out not to be a issue as the room cooled down. The room did not have a coffee maker or refrigerator. The Internet... More

It's a very nice hacienda with a beautiful garden. We had a big room in the hacienda ( room 111). You also have little cabins in the garden. Unfortunately we had a very noisy room. We could hear the neighbours. The rooms have very bad isolation and in the neighbourhood there was a party with very loud music. It was... More

Very nice facility, unique in some respects in that there were numerous "out buildings" providing many more rooms than you initially saw. The gounds included a play are for children, though none were there at the time. The quaint courtyard with its arts and crafts being sold was very nice. The handicrafts were reasonably priced and seemed well crafted. The... More

Allthough our stay was very short as we arrived late, The rooms were good and the bathroom was excellent. They did not have any room for 4 and no rooms with connecting doors. So, we had two rooms next to each other. They even served breakfast at 5 in the morning as we had to leave to take the train... More

We stayed one night as part of a Tren Crucero trip. The room was very large and the bathroom magnificent. We did find the room cold and there was no heater. Dinner in the restaurant was also excellent.

We (family of four with two teenage kids) stayed here for one night in between travels from Banos to Cuenca. The accommodation is fantastic (the best we had during our whole 10 day stay in Ecuador, staying at five different hotels). The rooms are huge and very comfortable. The bathrooms are immaculate. Wifi works without any problem. The surrounding gardens... More

The room was clean and large with a fireplace that they will light when you request it. The grounds are beautiful. The food at the restaurant was good, and on a chilly night the server gave my husband and I free canelazos to warm up! We were in Riobamba to hike and bike around Chimborazo, and this was a great... We arrived late afternoon and stayed here for one night en-route to Quito. Check in was quick and courteous and our baggage was soon taken to our room. The room was very large and well appointed and benefited from a fire (great facility as the weather was very cold tonight) and a very large bathroom with separate bath and shower.... More

We were mainly driving through Riobamba, on our way from Cuenca, Banos and Quito. It's a gorgeous drive, if you aren't locked in fog, through the Andes. Riobamba is not attractive, still seems under construction, but this hotel is an oasis! It occupies many acres and gorgeous mountain views, with many different patios and spots to enjoy them. We had... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The wonderful Hacienda Abraspungo is located at 2,754 metres above sea level and is surrounded by the magnificence of the Ecuadorian Andes. It is named after a glacial valley which is situated between the Chimborazo Volcano and Carihuairazo, in the exact centre of Ecuador.Hacienda Abraspungo, with its comfortable, charming and high level installations offers a personalized service in the ideal spot to enjoy the peace and beauty of the Andes. The architectural style found here offers the best of traditional colonial design often used in the ancestral mansions and haciendas of Ecuador. The Hacienda is adorned with old photographs and illustrations of Andean landscapes, which today constitutes as a testimony to eras gone by. The antiques on display in the social areas give a colonial flavour as well as a feel for the pre-Colombian cultures of the region. The visitor can truly appreciate the richness of the natural resources offered by the Chimborazo Province and Ecuador in general. Each room takes its name from one of the mountains of Ecuador. That mountain is shown in the photographs displayed within the interior design in the room. The owner’s commitment is to create a working environment which allows sustainable growth, enhancing positive image and generating an overall feeling of trust between the working force, the clients, and the community, aiming to become a point of reference within the tourist industry of Ecuador and the city of Riobamba. ... more   less
