This is a nice hotel in a great location. The staff was very nice and accommodating. We had some issue with the hot water in our first room and were able to change to a different room. If we had any minor issues they helped us out, and also called us a taxi when we did a day trip. The... More

We stayed at this hotel because we looked at four hotels in this area, each had some problems and we selected this one. In it;s prime this hotel was probably the Grand Dam of Otavalo. Howerer, they have not mantained it or updated it and it shows it's age. If someone would put alot of money in it, this could... More

I liked this hotel. Their central courtyard was really nice and the service was generally very good. The room which I had was a little bit dark and the Wi-Fi did not reach it which meant that I needed to go to the restaurant for the service, but that didn't detract too much from the experience. Friendly staff.

If you're looking for a hotel that has some character, with quiet rooms and very friendly staff - you definitely will appreciate this hotel. We were there three nights and every one was a great sleep, with a good breakfast in the morning. The courtyard was a great place for us to get together with our travelling mates, have a... More

At midnight I fled from another hotel in Otavalo, there was no way I was going to sleep, the place was just so noisy. My cab driver banged on the shuttered door of this place and a lovely man let me in and showed me to a spacious, QUIET room. I slept like a rock, awoke to sun streaming into... More

We stayed for one night in Otavalo following a visit to the famous market. Despite the town reputedly being very safe, we did not feel very secure in this room as there was no real security. There was no where to store passports and the doors of the rooms could easily be penetrated. The owners were very friendly and knocked... More

Hello, A group of 7 of us stayed here during July 2011, three couples and a single. Positives: o The rate at 21.85 dollars per person is good. But for a couple you pay double so that is starting to be a little pricey for a basic hotel. o It is only a 10 minute walk to the Plaza de... More

Nice and quiet colourfull hotel around big courtyard close to the center and the market. It is not a deluxe hotel but clean, embroidered towels and indian bedspreads. The beds are reasonable as was the bathroom, but the shower was nice and warm. The hotel people were friendly. Our passports were kept in a locker at the hoteldesk. In the... More

The stay here was OK. The courtyard is ambient but the rooms are very basic and cold. Staff and breakfast were satisfactory. What was disappointing was trying to make a reservation online - it didn't work, as no one returned any emails or reservation requests; maybe this explains why the hotel was almost completely empty.

Hotel Otavalo is the best option and the best value for money in Otavalo.
