We paid just over a $100 for bed and breakfast and we hoped that there would be something charming and quaint about it because it is more than we would normally pay for a hotel in South America. The public areas are indeed quaint but our room, unfortunately was just plain run down, nothing charming about it at all. It... More

A quick 2-night stopover and this property was recommended. Stayed in room #1 and found it very nice, especially since I was not in the room much. Like a lot of the area, it is "gated" and has "some bars" on the front door and surrounding areas. I'm not sure I'd expect much more out of this property or similar.... More

We stayed for two nights in Guayaquil on our way to Galápagos. Orillia del Rio is clearly overrated. Please read the negative reviews. I agree to all of them. It is located in a gated community. The gate keepers are not informed about your booking, they do not know the hotel. Once inside you are in a residential house converted... More

If you are looking for something other than a run-of-the-mill hotel experience, this may be the place for you. Situated in the separate, high-end suburb of Samborondon, this boutique hotel/B&B offers some balconies, a garden/courtyard and a different feel than the conventional hotel, which is the usual offering in the Guyaquil area where little or no outdoor space is available.... rather a boutique hotel as it states itself, we had the feeling to visit an guest house from the last century there is all what you need , a room , a bed, a bathroom, but everything is worn out and the dirt is not very attractive. the breakfast consisted of canned food, no milk available, coffee and tea served... Orilla del Rio is located in a gated community near the Parque Histórico in Guayaquil. A somewhat strange location, in the midst of a residential area. Of course there are taxis to take care of the transportation between hotel and city Centre, but if your goal is to visit city Centre, this hotel is not located nicely. In itself the... More

Flew into Guayaquil, known to be a little on the dangerous side. My tour operator Happy Gringo recommended- very happy! Peaceful oasis with approx. 8 rooms, my room was very spacious, extremely clean & quiet. Breakfast in the garden was a real treat. This little gem is located in an upscale guard-gated community. Walk 2 blocks to Parque Historico- free... More

This Hotel is in a Gated Community close to the airport. It is within walking distance to Parque Historico Guayaquil. The staff is very helpful. The rooms very nice and comfortable. The outdoor patio very pleasant. If you just have a transition day in Guayaquil this is a perfect stopover, spending the afternoon at the Park.

The hotel is about the only choice you have if staying in samborondon. It's clean, small but a bit old. Rooms are a little bit like staying in grandmas house. It is a converted residence. I will probably not stay here again as better quality and prices can be found in the city's center.
