We returned to the Riviera for a third time this year. We love the fact that it’s in centre of the beautiful town of Porec. We had a room loverlookingout the harbour which was wonderful. The rooms are clean and comfortable though ours was not large it was fine as we were out most of the time.
The buffet breakfast and dinner both offer plenty of good quality choices. We chooses to eat in the Spinnaker restaurant on two evenings and it was amazing our waiter explained the dishes mostly made from local produce and delicious he also advised us on local wines which we really like.
We love the fact that this hotel is adult only and enjoy the trip across to St Nicholas Island to enjoy the beach, there is an area reserved for Riviera guests. There is lots to see in and Porec too.

Stayed at the Valamar Riviera Hotel Sept 2018 during the Tunalicious (tuna) fishing tournament (although we didn't go fishing). The hotel is very convenient, wonderful water views, courteous staff, clean rooms, overall a nice experience. The only negative is the valet parking. the attendant takes the car to a parking lot about 10 minutes away. They shuttle you whenever you want to use your car.Other than that, I highly recommend this hotel. Breakfast was a complete buffet. Porec is a good area to visit other towns in the Istra peninsula. Ferrys leave from the dock to Venice. ALso, they offer free 5 minute ferry shuttle to their sister hotel and its beach. Note: no sand; only rocks.

The hotel is lovely very clean and well cared for food good choices can't fault that
I first stayed there in June and returned in September something I've never done before but enjoyed first stay so much decided to return
However on the last day my husband who has Crohn and high blood pressure was stuck in the lift pressing the alarm which sounded and shouting when he eventually got to reception floor told the staff who simply shrugged their shoulders and dismissed him he and I were very upset with their attitude including the manager we still await an apology

We stayed at the Valamar Riviera Hotel for 1 week from 18th September. This was our first time to Croatia.
We cannot fault the hotel in any way. Food excellent. Good choices for breakfast and evening meal. Staff very helpful.
We stayed in a harbour view room .Would have preferred a balcony but unfortunately none left when we booked. Loved watching all the activity along the harbour with all the boats . Was amazed one evening getting ready for dinner when a group of singers appeared outside the hotel and sang a couple of operatic songs. Later the same evening there was another folk group singing in the area.
Porec is a delightful place. Lots of little streets to explore and plenty of walking routes.
Felt very safe walking out late in the evenings
Will definitely be back hopefully in 2019

Situated right next to the quay and with the old town just a minute around the corner, this was a perfect location. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff friendly and helpful.Oour room was situated at the back of the hotel, of very good proportion with air conditioning which worked effectively. The bathroom was nice...would have preferred just a shower as it was a bit of a bind having to stand in a bath for a shower, but this is just a small point.
The room overlooked a small street in the old town, not busy at all, but the only view was of the back (or front) of an old house. It wasn't an unpleasant view as the house was well kept with lovely window boxes. I think previous reviewers have not been happy about this but believe me it was fine...I don't go on holiday to spend ages looking out of the window. I suppose had we been on a higher floor (we were on the second floor) we would have had a view over the lovely red tiled roofs but it really wasn't a problem.
The food was standard fayre for this type of hotel...a range of meats/fruits/cereal/cheeses/breads for breakfast. also some bacon, scrambled egg, omelettes to order, little bits of sausage etc. Our only complaint was that the English tea bags ran out on the second day and were never replaced, poor planning or they had run out for the season! There was a good range of fruit teas.
The evening meal was OK. Again...the usual fayre for an evening buffet. Nothing particularly stunning or tasty, if anything the meats were a bit overcooked...but it was ok.
For our last three nights we went over on the ferry to the sister Hotel (Isabella) on the island St Nicholas. The ferry is free and runs every 30 minutes (three minute journey) right up until midnight. Guests just need to let the Rivierra reception know during the day that they intend to dine over on the island. I have to say that the choice here was excellent, a brilliant range of foods with a whole section devoted to Italian cuisine, a carved meat every night along with a range of other meats and poultry on the servery...and about four or five fish dishes too. Soups and a good range of salads and puddings too. Clearly the Isabella is catering for many more guests than the Rivierra hence a bigger choice I presume...but the downside is that the dining room is very busy with lots of children (although there is an adult only area). The atmosphere in the Rivierra restaurant is less phrenetic but you have to trade that off if you want a better range of dishes.
There is a lovely seating area outside of the hotel for relaxing, reading etc and generally watching the world go by...but I hazard a warning...the dreaded music! I don't want to sound fuddy duddy as I am a music lover of all genre BUT I don't want it blasting out all the time. I use the word 'blasting' because it really was just a little too loud to be just 'background music'. I really can't imagine that if it was turned off completely guests would be clamouring to have it turned on again. I felt it was an impostion...Beyonce's ok but I don't want to go on holiday with her...well...not strictly true, but I wouldn't want her singing all day!
I would recommend this hotel. We'd go again and probably will but I'd like to think that the music will be a bit quieter and that the tea bags have been ordered and won't run out. I'd recommend going over on the ferry to the Island for sunbathing etc...its beautiful over there...and have the occasional meal there too.
Oh...and the old town is stunning...lovely Italian architecture and in the evening there are a number of bars with live music outside, we went out every night and were spoiled for choice but the 'Caffe Bar Old Time' was our favourite. Delicious coffee and the local Stock brandy is very acceptable.
