This property is situated in the ancient town of Shuhe. Our Chinese guide decided not to book accommodation in Lijiang as she felt it was not an authentic experience and very much a "tourist" town. The low rise buildings are built around courtyards in the ancient style. The courtyards were beautifully landscaped with plenty of running water. Our inital impression...

Lijiang Guan Fang Garden Villas Hotel claim to be a 5-star hotel with state of the art facilities. I would at most put it at 3 and def not state of the art...at least not the rooms (maybe the lobby). We stayed 2-nights in April as part of a tour group. It seems that most people here are apart of...

Beautiful property located only steps from Shuhe Old Town. Recent two-night stay was a major disappointment. Guest room was without heat. Beds were impossibly hard. Lounge was unstaffed as were some service desks. Restaurant seemed to only have customers during breakfast hours, when hotel guests were present (included with room). Breakfast buffet ranged from average to awful, depending on the...

Stayed one night with group tour. No heat in room with temps in the 50s IN THE ROOM ITSELF. Some excuse about the government and energy controls. Mattresses seemed like nothing more than gauze-covered plywood. Towels thread bare and bathrobes shabby. Long black hairs on bathroom floor (I'm blond). Waited in unstaffed bar in vain for desperately needed beer. Breakfast...

Stayed here for 4 nights in October. I can agree with previous posts - the beds were very hard indeed. Breakfast could be a bit of a "bun fight" if you were trying to eat when all the other tourists were there (they had buses to catch!!). Hotel was very clean and a good point was that the restaurant opened...

I was very impressed with the hotel's landscape. Very nice gardens, make it a resort like. Our room was well decorated, cleaned and comfy. What beat other hotels here are many English channels in TV. WIFI in room. Good breakfast ( compared with other hotels I stayed in China ). What can improve are their amenities ( do not match...

We found this hotel on CTrip.com and booked it based on pictures and description found online. I must say we were totally surprised when we arrived. It's got the best view of snow capped mountains all around. The hotel is quiet and very resort like with gardens n ponds. It's a short walk away from the Shuhe Old Town. The...

They lost my credit card, said I had lost it, then found it once I was home, sent me a number to contact them on which yielded a man who thought I was an alien. Then they charged me again for the room even though I paid cash before I left because their credit card machine was not working. I...

My girlfriend and I booked this hotel in advance for our short stay in Lijiang (two nights). It is located a bit outside Lijiang, at the entrance of Shuhe old town (which is similar to Lijiang's old town, but not as nice). The trip from the airport to the hotel will cost somewhere between ¥80-100 (you can just agree on...
