We stopped here for the night because 4 people from our group were crossing the border and entering Kathmandu the following morning. I had two full size beds as I had no roommate . I had to pay the agency a single supplement. The room was small but the heater worked well. There were floor lamps that were not plugged...

This hotel was our last night in Tibet (on tour group) before crossing back into Nepal. It was pretty good compared with some of the places we had stayed in Tibet. Good wifi (but only in the Lobby area) and plenty of hot water in the shower (set times only however) Room was reasonable, Beds comfortable and we had a...

Zhangmu is an interesting border town, nestled against a steep hillside. Our room in the Zhangmu Hotel was spacious. As we had asked for a room on the riverside of the hotel, it was also quiet. The beds were quite hard but there were spare blankets in the cupboard and we placed them on top of the mattresses. Warm water...

We spent our last night in Tibet here and were very pleased, especially after the more basic guesthouses and hotels we were in the previous week. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure, very clean by most Asian standards, great view of the gorge from the gorge - side room, and very convenient to restaurants and the border. Service...

The Zhangmu Hotel is an older, or appears that way, hotel on the road from Tibet into Nepal or vice versa. It is convenient to the Friendship Bridge and exiting Tibet and entering Nepal or vice versa. That is its major virtue. The rooms are populated with nice furniture but nothing special. The bed was comfortable. Smoking is overlooked by...

I was scared by the amateur looking wiring hidden behind furniture. I was annoyed at the difficulty in finding logically located light switches, or power sockets I felt safe around. I was concerned by the inability of management to admit to the simple truth that they had no rooms where smoking was not permitted. I was disturbed by the level...

This is another Hotel along the narrow road of Zhangmu town with a huge drainage problem. Lime other hotels, this one is constructed well with good material, equipped with grand furniture and neat and clean rooms. The rooms however are not equipped with proper amenities and bathrooms suffer from drainage problem. Wifi is a major problem in all these hotels,...

The last hotel we stayed in during out ten day overland trip though and definitely the best by far. Certainly could be compared to the 3* hotels in Lhasa. Zhangmu is a sprawling town tumbling down a mountainside. The hotel is situated at the edge of a cliff so has stunning views of far away mountains and the valley below....

We stayed at this hotel as the last stop on our tour from Lhasa to the Nepal border via Rongbuk / Everest Base Camp. Given some of the places we stayed at along the route, this hotel was a quite a good standard on a comparable basis. However, internationally it would only be a 2 or 3 at best. Our...

Was put up at Zhangmu Hotel by the tour agent when we were at the zhangmu border, and this hotel is located right at the bottom of the hill, somewhere near a chinese custom office/gate. From what i gather, this is one of the best or the best hotel in Zhangmu area, there ain't a Shangrila or a Hilton here....
