We loved this Hostel.. We got into town early and got to the hostel before the receptionist. We were greeted by Doña Juanita who immediately offered us to sleep on the couch while waiting for the receptionist. She made sure to put more wood into the stove and handed us blankets. This Hostel really felt like coming home, and the staff like your "tias" helping out with everything from advice on what to see and do to making sure you have extra blankets for the night.
It is a small, calm and really Cosy Hostel. Everything was clean and the breakfast (included in the price) came with eggs and freshly made juice. We have nothing bad to say about our stay here except for wishing we would have stayed longer.

This hostel immediately felt like home. It's so clean comfortable and relaxed. The rooms are so clean and cozy. The bathrooms are really clean. The kitchen has all you need and the eating area and sitting room are great for chatting and hanging out with all the other travellers. Location is great, really near the bus stop and it's really near shops, town centre and the lovely beach if you fancy surf lessons or just need to chill out. Staff are amazing and so lovely and helpful. Finally breakfast was awesome too. I was very sad to leave here. Definitely book here if there's a room available it's amazing value for money and you won't regret it. Thanks for everything hostal El arbol!

We stayed here for two nights and wish we could of stayed longer. This is one of the best hostels we've stayed in so far on our 6 month trip. The staff were so nice, wifi was great and breakfast was lovely. I would definitely stay here again! Also the best was amazing!

Easy to feel at home here. Definitely the cleanest hostel I've stayed in while in South America. Rooms were small, but clean and warm. Beds were extremely comfortable. Shared bathrooms were very clean. Friendly staff, good breakfast and free wifi. Good location, easy to walk downtown and elsewhere.

I loved (LOVED) this hostel. The woman who runs it (I think there are two but I was only there for two nights so I interacted only with Susana) is simply wonderful. So helpful, so kind. She helped me right away book tours the morning I got in, was extremely communicative when a tour had to be canceled or changed, and gave me great advice about how to get to Pisco Elqui (and to skip Vicuna, which was spot on). Also, the woman who cooks breakfast and cleans (I think her name was Juanita but I could be totally wrong) was so lovely. She was almost like a loving aunt. She took such good care of me- I really wanted to stay longer.

Also, the beds are like sleeping on clouds. Seriously. Best sleep of my travels. The kitchen is small but very clean, and really nice to cook in. And there´s a patio area outside that´s actually well maintained and really lovely (unlike most hostels where they´re small and grungy) so other guests and I could eat out there after cooking.

Would highly recommend! I am a solo traveler and I met people at the hostel and had a great time. This is not a party hostel though, so if that´s your thing this isn´t the place for you.

We had no Reservation but fortunately they had a room for uss. We wanted to stay just two nights but we were there 9 nights and I think this says everything.

It is so clean and Juanita, the housekeeper is the nicest Chilean Person I've ever met :) The breakfast is awesome! Fresh Smoothie, Toast, Cheese, Ham, Tea and Coffee every day. The kitchen is great and has all you need for a nice dinner. There is also a Barbecue area in the garden. We stayed in the private room, 8 dorm and 4 dorm room and all the rooms are clean, the beds are really confy and you get a towel.

Great Location, Walking distance to the beach, City centre and Supermarket.

Felt like at home and was really hard to leave :)

Hammocks in the garden would be a nice thing to have but already without it its EXCELLENT!!

Little nice hostel, close to the center of La Serena and to the Japanese garden. The room was ok. The bathroom was big and clean, with hot water. Good breakfast and nice staff. The dining room was confortable.

As far as hostels go, this is a great one. The staff were super welcoming and helpful. The free breakfast every morning was great, and they even bring you freshly made juice and eggs when you sit down at the table. Clean and quiet place with relatively comfortable beds. The only negative would be that the wifi didn't work in my room, only the common spaces. Regardless, I would recommend!

One of the nicest hostels I've stayed in. A perfect place to get some rest if you need it. The staff feels like family, everything is spotless and pretty, and the beds are uncannily comfortable. One of the things I liked best were the other guests. Everyone was interesting and very laid-back. I believe, the hostel's environment had a lot to do with this.

Do yourself a favor and stay here.

This hostel is hidden behind trees full of flowers. Inside it's cosy with bunk beds and white sheets. There is hot water 24h and the water pressure is very good as well. Beds are super comfy, just lack a ladder to get up so it's a bit of a climb.
Breakfast is very good (especially after coming from Bolivia).
The kitchen is quite small but no problem if you cook after each other and not all at once.
Staff was super friendly :)
