We throughly enjoyed our stay here since the lady who ran the hostel was extremely welcoming. The hostal is very much a working progress, since the address was different to the one given in our lonely planet guide, we presume they had just relocated. We had a sweet double room, which lead out onto a patio. Although the facilites were...

Good hostel with nice owners, kitchen with basic stuff, 3 bathrooms with showers, nice patio, good wifi connection and possibility to wash your dirty laundry. There also is a shared library which is not really big. We paid 8000 CLP per person in a shared room, which is pretty standard around here.

We arrived in the evening at La Serena and looked for a place to sleep. So we were lucky to find a room in the official "Lonely Planet Tip", the El Hibisco. The owner was really friendly and helpful, but that's it...the room was quite dark and musty, but well, at least it was quite and we had a good...

We arrived at El Hibisco after an overnight bus from Valparaiso. We were absolutely exhausted and all we wanted was to go to bed, but were expecting to be told to wait until check in. The lovely owner must've been able to see how we felt and immediately showed us to a room, and left us to sleep without any...

Kitchen very nasty. The bathrooms works, but are not nice. TV in double room and nice bed, but the the room seemed and felt humid. No mirror in the room and no power outlet on the bathrooms. Location is good and not far away from supermarket. No one speaks English at all and there was problems with our booking when...

This family run hostel is a great place to stay. The kitchen is nice, the rooms are comfortable, the power outlets are a little sketchy, the showers are hot, the toilets are leaky but only the freshwater, it's easy to find from the church across the way, and it's in a very quiet neighborhood. A few blocks from the bus...

Wow, this place has been neglected for a long time. The bedroom was reasonably clean but the bathrooms had leaky plumbing, broken tiles, cheap replacement toilet seats, etc. I wouldn't even step in the shower. Please note, I am an adult and was just looking for a quick place to stay for the night. Sure, the place seemed like they'd...

We stayed 2 days in this hostel and it was great value for money, because: -we arrived in the morning and got free extra breakfast (though it was dry & boring bread) -we got free luggage storing the last day -we got free towels for beach -they do cheap laundry -we got a room for 3/4 persons and only paid...

Nice located, good beds, friendly and helpfull staff. It's clean and the kitchen is big enough to cook your meal. The price vs quality is in a good balance. The walk to the centre of La Serena is about 5 minutes. We can recommend this hostel.

We highly recommend this hostel. Besides its central location and its nice interior yard and common as well cooking space we want to highlight the friendliness of the owner who hugley helped us far beyond normal hostel hospitality. As well they have a car park and it`s very good value for money.
