Exploring Pinheiros, a neighbourhood known for cozy restaurants and cafes, you will notice a youthful energy. Several cultural centres and institutes surround the area and even its main church, Calvário, hosts a traditional Brazilian “Festa Junina” - a celebration with traditional music, dance, and food during the months of June and July. On the weekends, residents gather at Benedito Calixto Square, a loud
and crowded area where people enjoy live music drinks alongside the antiquities fair.
Looking to book a stay sometime in late June to early July. The reviews on this hostel seem promising concerning the staff and neighborhood but what about the social scene inside of the hostel? Is there a terrace or a nice common area that doesn't have strict rules? I just like having the full hostel experience.

It's a pretty chill place. There is a large terrace - complete with hammocks and even an outdoor kitchen - there that people use frequently to have a few drinks or just kick back in a hammock to read. From what I remember there weren't many rules there but at the same time there were never any gatherings that got out of control.
Villa Madalena is a great little area and this was a great little place to stay. It was mellow without being dull.
