Casa Cool Beans was the perfect introduction to Rio. It's located in Santa Teresa, a fun and interesting neighbourhood with great bars and interesting architecture. But it's the property and, most of all, its owners, that makes this B&B the best choice in Rio. Lance, David and co. could not be more accommodating and helpful in helping visitors plan their...

We arrived at Casa Cool Beans with great expectations... And everything revealed to be even better! Cool house, with bohemién atmosphere: every detail is perfect. Moreover, the staff is the most distinctive element: Lance, David, Sergio and Maico are here to make your trip in Rio as perfect as they are. They are present and helpful and their suggestions were...

We have been travelling the world for 45 years and Casa Cool Beans is our most unique and extraordinary accommodation experience. The premises and rooms are a complete work of art and the owners, managers and staff are amazing. They couldn't have done anything more to make our stay in Rio and unforgettable experience. We arrived on 30 December to...

What everybody else says is true: these guys just nail it with the personal touch. It started with the welcoming email we received a week before we arrived, instructing us re the best way to experience New Years Eve in Rio, and ended with the handwritten thank you note and gift from Lance and David. They make you feel at...

My husband and I honeymooned in Rio De Janeiro. It was a surprise that he planned by himself. He found Casa Cool Beans online, and it sounded like just what we were looking for. He could not have been more right. Lance and Dave, the owners, were incredible. They made our stay stress free and fun from the moment we...

We stayed at Casa Cool Beans in December 2012 and had a fantastic time. The hotel itself is great, the breakfasts were superb and the level of service was far beyond anything I could have expected. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Our only regret with Casa Cool Beans is that we are unable to stay longer. We are on the last 2 days of our honeymoon and this is not only the nicest place we've stayed but also the friendliest and most helpful. Lance, David, Michael and the team have helped us with everything we may have needed. They even provided...

Santa Teresa is a great area to stay in if you want the "other" Rio that is more than just the beaches. Casa Cool Beans, just around the corner from the Bar Gomez (and a number of very good eating places) is well situated on a quiet side street. Once you enter the street gate, you are in another world...

It really has all been said before, Casa Cool Beans is a superb B&B. Late one evening I sent an e-mail enquiry to them and was most impressed to receive a reply about five minutes later. Subsequently we made a reservation and we stayed for four nights at the beginning of December 2012. The very helpful personal advice we received...

Staying in Santa Teresa

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.
