Booked hotel during world cup 14. Impressed for price and location. This was one of the most well priced hotel. Did not have high expectation reading earlier reviews. Were impressed. Service is well managed. Of course you have problem with English all over Rio so was not specific. The hotel provided free lock to safe so did not take any...

Stayed here for just 1 night after Germany vs France WC game. Pleasantly surprised, hotel is in great location just 2 blocks from Copacabana beach, the breakfast was excellent, staff friendly and room was clean & comfy. They stored our bags during the day and were happy to check in at an rather late odd hour after the game! We...

Good location, very close to the beach. The room with bathroom for 3 was clean enough. Unfortunately noisy (street downstairs is very busy). Breakfast included and not bad (specially the fruit). The lobby looks good but once you go upstairs it doesn't look that good (old and dirty). It is expensive but apparently all Rio is the same. For a...

Location is so-so. About 5 minutes from the Copacabana. That`s only my recommending point. One of two Elevators is out of order and, furthermore when I check out, other elevator becomes also broken. It means I'm forced to climb up to 10th floor on foot, and down to the ground floor. They need renovation ASAP before the World Cup in...

After specifically telling the cleaning staff we did not want our room cleaned we came back to find a man cleaning the room. He was unusually friendly and then quickly left. We checked our valuables and we found that $100 was missing (we deliberately left our cash in the room because we were advised not to walk around Rio with...

I agree with the reviewer Lee_Pearce, the best thing about the hotel is its location, which is very central and close to the Copacabana Beach. My room was ok, pretty spacious, but old. The air conditioning was very noisy, and the room had an overall smell of humidity and moth. The staff was not attentive most of the time, the...

this hotel is well located being one block off the Copacabana beach and at the better end of the beach for bars and nightlife, however, there ends the praise. Its expensive for what it is, even by Rio standards, and the 3 star rating is very generous. The air conditioning unit was noisy and even being on an upper floor...

The most positive thing about this hotel is the location, its 1 block away from the beach and a short walk to the nearest Metro. The staff were helpful. There is only 1 lift, and being on the 13 floor we needed to use it, but the other one was being renovated whilst we were there. Unfortunately the Air Conditioning...

I have stayed here 2 times. First time I stayed there I had a great room, big and very confortable. The staff was sometimes friendly, other times, when I wanted to have my friend to the room, it wasnt allowed. It was weird as on my arrival, my friend took me there, she could join me in the room and...

Average hotel that needs remodeling. Their rooms look quite old. The location is awesome, with restaurants, drugstores, banks nearby and the beach a couple of blocks away. Avoid the rooms in the first 5 floors facing the noisy avenue, ask for those in the back.

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
