The hotel is in a great location, being only two blocks from Copacabana beach and within a reasonable distance of all of the action. The room had only the bare essentials, which in a city like Rio de Janeiro is not a problem as you are not going to be spending a long time in the hotel. If you are...

Spartan rooms, especially for the price you pay for them. In my double room, there were just two beds with a very hard mattress, a small cupboard and a desk. We did not even have a proper window and there wasn't an alarm clock (really annoying when you wake up in the middle of the night and having to search...

Although this hotel is 2 blocks away from the beach - it is dead spot on in the middle of the Copacabana strip. Rooms were clean and so were the bathrooms. Breakfast was good with ample fresh fruits. I will stay there again next time.

FIrst time visit to Rio stayed at this hote. Great location, okay rooms, great breakfast. Supposedly a 4star hotels, they are advertising like this, its just 3 star. Value for money poor. They make you pay your whole roomcharges when you check in, not like most hotels using a credit card as guarantee. Helpful if you book hotel provided transport...

I booked this hotel on booking.com for myself and two travelling companions for a forthcoming 4 night stay in May 2013. When I booked the hotel it clearly stated in English that the cost would be £579:75 or R$1764 . Then having booked I was then told in the small print there was a 15.5% service charge which should have...

We booked this over Carnaval - It is a great location with everything on your doorstep and i felt really safe, even walking around at night (2 young girls travelling on our own). The staff were great, Weber really went out of our way for us!One lady was a bit snooty, but generally the staff went out of their way...

The hotel was clean, amenities were adequate, the breakfast was great, the bell boys rocked, however the night staff at the desk was subpar, unhelpful and placed their work load onto the day staff. In short they didn't care about the customer.

We stayed at the Mar Palace during Carnival, after abandoning a wholly unsuitable hotel. Frankly, I am surprised that we got a room for four nights on such short notice. The room was large and comfortable, but on the front of the hotel's third floor, so the street noise was sometimes a bit much. The hotel staff were hugely friendly...

Hotel prices in Rio were Sky high for the New-Years period. This is a 3-star hotel and we paid more than what we paid for a nice 5-star hotel in Miami previously. But this is the reality of Rio. All hotels are very expensive that time of year. Considering that, this hotel was good value for money. Positives: - Clean...

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
