Gorgeous location, beautiful villa in Santa Teresa, not far from Christ Redeemer. Views of Maracanã. Alexis works hard on your stay. Breakfast is amazing. Cocktails by the pool. Really enjoyable stay. Won't hesitate to book again. Highly recommended.

Alexis is very helpful and thoughtful, wonderful fruits and juice for breakfast, even made us a cake. Lots of ideas for where to visit in Rio and how to get there. Caipirinha on the terrace as the sun goes down, lovely very clean pool, and a beautiful villa. Felt 5 star for a reasonable price !

Marvellous view from a pearl of a villa on the hills of santa Teresa. In perfect shape, like the house went into a time capsule from 1850. Staff was extremely nice and helpful, daily fresh fruit and bola cake for breakfast. Dip in the pool, sit back in the hammock and enjoy the sound of the birds squeaking. Definitely a...

I cannot recommend Villas Alexandrino more to anyone visiting Rio !!!! Never having been to Rio before, we stayed at Villas Alexandrino, which is situated in Santa Terresa, which is situated away from the high rises and touristy area and located up high with the most stunning views imaginable !!! Excellent bedrooms and service. Nice swimming pool. Is near downtown and south zone but it's quiet and calm. There are few rooms but all of them are exclusive. There is a french decor. And also have a nice view of Rio de Janeiro.

The hotel is located in the heart of Rio de Janeiro. It is a very beautiful colonial villa, with a very nice garden surrounding it. From the hotel you have a great view over the city. You can see the Marcana Stadium from the swimming pool. There are small monkeys in the garden, which are really cute, and even a...

I stayed here over the world cup with my girlfriend, and was so satisfied that I came back for a business trip with a colleague. I will not even bother repeating the excellent feedback of everyone else (except one) on this website: beautiful old house, in the best area of Rio (for those who want an authentic and safe area...

This charming hotel (more a Colonial-style house) is situated in Santa Teresa, an "artistic" area of Rio de Janeiro. We had a suite of rooms on the ground floor, but the bedrooms on the first floor are exquisitely decorated. The public rooms have been renovated tastefully, and there are superb views overlooking the south of the city. We were served...

Staying in Santa Teresa

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.
