The location is perfect if you want to catch the first train to the Christ statue. Just a 10 minutes walk. The service and cleanliness is good. Locality is residential and quiet. Not sure how safe to walk in at night. Bus and subway access nearby (2 and 15 minutes)

We stayed one night at this hostel, as we were looking for apartment, and we had a nice experience. We stayed at a private suite and unfortunately the photos didn't quite match. we were very close to the hallway and sometimes it got very noisy. Also, the room smelled like fresh ink ( not sure if they didn't have more... More

I came here with my girlfriend, booked for 4 days, and must say its a oqupied hostel, The rooms are all packed, we could. Or rest really well because in the morning it's really noisy. Also I had the bummer to have a guy in my room who snore so loud that sleeping with earplugs in was even impossible, Asked... More

Me and my friend stayed here for 4 nights at the start of our trip through Brazil. Overall I would recommend this to anyone staying in Rio on a budget. Staff were helpful and friendly, our room was basic but clean and very comfortable, with air con and a clean private bathroom/shower. We felt safe and comfortable in the local... More

A friend and I arrived at the hotel with two suitcases, some bags and jackets! We rang the doorbell, and what greeted us was a helpful staff who quickly came to helping us with all the things! We Checked in and found our room! The suitcases were fighting heavy.. but that was no problem! They took them up the narrow... More

This really is a gem. Situated in leafy Laranjeiras, Samba Palace has good access to the beaches (at Ipanema and Copacabana), Sugar Loaf and Corcovado (Christ the Redeemer). This is an easy 15 walk to the tram station. If you arrive by bus, the 133 runs from the bus terminal to the door of the property!! The bedrooms are clean... More

I stayed 3 nights. The staff was kind, helpful and speaked spanish. My bedroom had good ventilation, lighting and big lockers. The bed was very comfortable. In general it counts with very good facilities (bathrooms, dining room, social area and good wi-fi signal). This hostal has a great location (Laranjeiras is a safe area) and good transportation options. The price... More

The hostel is pretty simple, but clean and organized. The coffee break is not full of options, but one can manage it. Staff is very attentive and they're always willing to help. Location is good. Not near the beach, but very easy to access (we took just one bus from the bus terminal).
