We stayed here for 8 nights for olympics. This is a 3 star hotel by North American standards but is rated as 4+ stars. I am sure it has not been updated since it opened. Lobby looks quite good but rooms are bare bones but clean. We heard of other rooms with black mold but ours was fine. Breakfast was...

I didnt have a lot of expectation as in this price range of close to U$100/night, Rio south zone(Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon) has not many nice options. But unfortunately this Hotel was even below my expectations, as the rooms & breakfast area are not inviting or pleasant, the breakfast for brazilian standards is very basic and old fashioned. Our room was...

Stayed in this hotel 4 nights. Size of the room is decent. Stuff was very helpful. Cleaning service was ok not great. Breakfast choice was same every day, no veggies but offered fruits. There is no elctric pot that u could use in the room. But for a short stay is not too bad. Wifi was working for us everywhere.

This 4* hotel is just two blocks back from the beach behind it's more illustrious rival the Copacabana Palace Hotel (which is a useful reference point for taxi drivers who do not seem to have heard of the Copacabana Mar). The rooms are a reasonable size and the bathrooms although on the small side have decent showers. There is a...

It’s a little melodramatic to say this is the worst hotel ever (I’m sure it isn’t), but that’s what it felt like. Honestly, the hotel itself isn’t that bad. The rooms was clean and adequately decorated, if a little drab. The lobby has wifi. The breakfast food was pretty good. There is a pool on the roof with a mountain...

I have to say the staff redefine frindly and helpful even when they didn't speak English. Massive thanks to Ray (hope I spelt that correctly) who speaks great English who...

We booked this hotel from Tripmasters.com and were happy about it as it is walking distance to the Copacabana beach and everything. The little Italia restaurant nearby - hotel front desk told us to have lunch and dinner was really good.

This hotel is in a great location just a couple of streets off the main beach in Copacabana. Friendly staff, good selection for breakfast and clean rooms. What more do you need? Also great restaurants close to the hotel.

We enjoyed our short stay here on our tour of S.A. This is really a perfect location, loved the area for restaurants and shops and it's so near the beach!! Our room was very comfortable, at a reasonable price and quiet, too.

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
