Nice service and good breakkast, the room was more like a 3 star hotel, and the price was fair. The problems was I always pay with Visa, and the exchange rate was 3.16 to 1 dollar; however, they converted payment to dollar for an exchange of 3 to1, so if you use credit card, be aware of the posibiltiy of...

We stayed in Rio for 3 days, during a trip to visit family. This hotel isn't fancy, but it was really great. The hotel staff was very friendly, and remembered me. My husband speaks Portuguese but I don't, and any time I would go to the desk they always spoke to me in english (I just was impressed that they...

I left an overall nice review on Booking.com for this hotel. But then I started to think of all the experience I had and I think it is important to mention them. Email communication was a bit slow. I asked for a favor to surprise my boyfriend on our anniversary (willing to pay for this extra service) but they did...

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights,we had a room at the front of the hotel overlooking the main road and although we were on the 11th floor we still could hear the noise from the traffic below. The windows in the room really need to be double glazed not the single glaze which are fitted this would...

We were in Rio and stayed at the Copacabana Mar for 3 nights. It is located only 3 blocks from Copacabana Beach. Clean, smiling, professional staff. Comfortable beds, quiet room, overlooking an uninteresting courtyard, but thus protecting your sleep from the noisy streets. Excellent breakfasts. Can't speak about the sauna, fitness or pool, as I was too busy visiting Rio.

I was in Rio just 5 days before the Olympics and found this hotel for a great price. Very economical and excellent location just near the metro station and 2 blocks from the beach. Staff was very rude when I tried to bring friends to my room. They won't allow anybody to come up. Also they didn't liked that I...

I stayed in this hotel for five nights during a work-related stay in Rio. The hotel ticks all the right boxes -- the room was clean and comfortable, there was a table suitable for working (not a desk though, and to plug in the computer, I had to unplug the minibar fridge), and the wifi in my room was reliable...

Good: the hotel is very near to the beach. Is comfortable thinking in the basic service and is clean. To improve: the bathroom supplies are not renovated as they should, the wifi is sometimes not so good, at the check in they start to sell you the tours and is kind uncomfortable because all you want is get your room...

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
