What a great hotel in the Flamengo neighbourhood of Rio de Janeiro. The hotel is simple but the price more than makes up for the simplicity and it's clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is typical Brazilian fare- hearty and delicious. Great restaurants and cafes near by. The beach is in walking distance and...

Stayed during the Olympics. The staff speak limited English, but are very helpful. Rooms are a hit and miss as some are newly renovated and some are not. Good location if you want to visit Copacabana Beach, but far from the Olympic Park (Barra) and finally has a very good breakfast spread Overall had a wonderful experience would highly recommend

Decent location in the Flamengo district, access to Sugarloaf and Christ the Redeemer weren't too long by taxi and the area felt pretty safe even at night. The rooms were fairly good but the biggest plus was the breakfast - having been travelling for months this was the best breakfast I've had so far!

The hotel is in an old neighborhood, not really near anything that could be attractive to a tourist, but it is cheap and the rooms were renovated recently. Be aware that most hotels in Rio have tiny rooms, and this is not an exception (my room was about 10 x 15). A free breakfast buffet is served from 7 am...

As other TA reports correctly point out, this is a well-located, well-run hotel, situated in a safe, pleasant part of town, close to the Flamengo beach (5 minutes walk), to a metro station, and, if you head north, plenty of bars and restaurants. Rooms are functional, but clean; plumbing works fine (plenty of very hot water); there's a very good...

I like this location near Botafogo. You can wlk in 30 minutes almos anywhere and the beach is nearby. However I got a very noisy room (414) because of a next door construction. Internet did not work well two of the 4 days. Beds are just ok and 4 days were enogh. Restaurant has basic food but friendly service. I...

I'm staying here as the end of a Dragoman organised trip. The hotel is clean fresh and tidy. The staff are polite also. The rooms are a nice size, with a fridge and mini bar, plus breakfast is divine. Worth a stay. The location is a 10 min drive from Copacabana beach but there is a metro two blocks away,...

The hotel is an old building but the facilities are renewed. The room is good, the shower is good, the bed is ok but the street is extremely noisy during the night. The breakfast is good and also the wi-fi. Maybe it is a good idea to ask for a room facing backwards of the street.
