I chose this Hostel, no doubt like many others, because of the great feedback on trip advisor. I was travelling with my husband and we wanted a private room but found that all of the Hotels were extremely expensive in Rio, with the ones in our price bracket being badly rated on triup advisor, so we chose to stay in...

Dear guest, First of all I would like to apologize about the transfer service. Right after I read you review I called the driver and found out he sent somebody else to cover for him on that day. You´re right and it won´t happen again. Just to clarify, the price of the transfer service is a bit more expansive than...

We stayed at this hostel over New Years and had a great time. It is located in more quiet but beautiful Santa Teresa, but still very close to the party alleys of Lapa. The room was comfortable and clean, really nice given that it was a 10-person dorm. The breakfast was great and the staff was very friendly and helpful....

The Pros: 1) Each of the dorm beds had privacy screens so you could have your own little space. Each bed also had it´s own reading light and electric outlet. 2) Good breakfast with many options 3) It is in a beautiful old mansion... architecture lovers will appreciate it for that 4) If you want to experience the Lapa street...

We stayed in the master suite and absolutely loved it. Despite the steep climb up othe hostel with heavy bags, the place itself was great, the staff were friendly and very helpful, the breakfast was good. The room was very spacious and clean, with fantastic views from the great balcony. The place was surprisingly quiet for a hostel, people staying...

We had a fantastic stay at Bossa in Rio. We stayed in a double for the first night which was lovely. Lots of room, very clean and our own bathroom. Then we moved into the 6 bed dorm for 5 nights which was again very clean in great condition. We each had a locker and the beds had curtains so...

The staff was especially friendly and helpful with any questions that we had about sight seeing in RIo. Bossa Rio Hostel is a great location if you want to see the Christ Redeemer and explore the Central parts of Rio. Really cool vibe in the hostel at night, great music and delicious caipririnhas. We stayed in the double private room,...

Simply Awesome. Clean rooms, great breakfast, lovely communal areas, wifi, tv, just minutes from restaurants in Santa Teresa or Lapa... But also some nice little touches like- happy hour 2 for 1 caipirinhas (which were outstanding), free tea and coffee all day. What really makes this place so good is the attitude of the staff. Friendly, knowledgeable, very helpful. I...

Stayed in a 10 bed dorm. The room had a really bad smell the whole time we were there, I have no idea what from, maybe the mould that coated the walls and roof of the shower in the room? Maybe the AC? Staff friendly. Breakfast was good. Short walk to Lapa and Santa Teresa, lots of places to eat...

I had a great time in Bossa in Rio! Though the dorm is small, it's clean and so are the bathrooms. The hostel has a great atmosphere, and staff are helpfull and well informed. Breakfast is fantastic, the best I've had during my stay in Brazil. And the location is lovely: Santa Theresa truly is a gem! We were with...

Staying in Santa Teresa

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.
