We absolutely loved Casa Mosquito. Endlessly stylish- fabulous rooms, decor, roof top pool and bar. A wonderful setting with great views. This is a small, intimate hotel with a relaxed vibe. Light and airy with an eclectic mixture of furniture and interesting pieces. You feel far from it all and yet you can walk to Ipanema and be in the...

Close to a favela about 10 minutes walk from Ipanema beach, this boutique hotel is for you if you are fed up with standard hotels and don't mind climbing steps. The bedrooms are quite small and probably could do with an up date, but the communal areas are lovely and the swimming pool terrace is wonderful with the best views...

We just loved Casa Mosquito and would really love to stay there again! It's a very cool and eclectic place with beatiful and serviceminded owner and staff. We stayed in a nice room in the old part of the hotel. The beds and linen are superb. Breakfast is very nice, not to mention the Caipirinhas that are to die for....

My wife and I stayed here for several months and we couldn't have been happier! The furnishings were tasteful, comfortable, and clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooftop pool and patio offer a wonderful view of the surrounding city. We were within a 10 minute walk of Ipanema beach and several great restaurants.

We spent 2 nights there and loved everything about this boutique hotel. Really nice staff, and Benjamin, the owner, is super helpful. The location at the entrance of the favelas can be somehow surprising at first, but it is actually really safe and ideally located to walk either to Copacabana or Ipanema. The room was decorated with taste, and the...

We stayed at Casa mosquito for 3 nights in August. It is a lovely hotel with excellent staff. The views are breathtaking. It's well located in ipanema and it felt very safe walking around day and night. 5 mins walk to ipanema beach. Loads of bars and restaurants really close. Couldn't have asked for more from this boutique hotel. The...

Perfect for a couple wanting to explore Rio with a touch of luxury. Rooftop pool and bar with views! From the front terrace you can see the favellas down the hillside. Great G&T spot. Walking distance to Ipanema beach. The room was characterful, in a trendy way, but a bit small and there were some broken mosaic tiles in the...

It might take a bit of time for the cab/Uber driver to find his way around the steep & tortuous cobbled stoned roads leading to Casa Mosquito, but that's the modest price to pay to access a truly fantastic location with commanding views of the entire south-eastern districts of Rio. I arrived early with no reservation and was very warmly...
