Really nice location except that it's at the top of a really steep hill. Close to the beach and a subway station. Staff is friendly and the dorms are fine. Bathroom and showers okay, one day the water was brown and cold so you couldn't take a shower. Wifi was just okay and worked only in common areas, two computers...

Decent place with plenty of bathrooms, decent breakfast, nice staff and great location towards the end of Copacabana and a metro station right nearby. The beds were a bit uncomfortable as the mattresses are really thin, but overall a good experience.

Located very well in Copacabana this hostel has everything you could want. Friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms with the sheets washed daily, spacious dorms, great wifi and many really nice communal areas. All you can eat buffet breakfast was a real bonus! Occasionally the hot water didn't work which was a slight negative and the bathroom floor tended to...

I stayed there for 3 or 4 days, I do not remember. I was very happy during my stay the security guy let me in even though it was very early in the morning and so too early for the check in, but my flight landed early in the morning and I didn't have any other choice. Good breakfast, I...

We are glad to hear you were happy during your stay and that you liked our breakfast. We are sorry your happiness vanished because of a missing bikini top, hopefully this didn't ruin your trip. We do not have any responsibility for things being left behind, if we would mail people everything they left behind it would take us hours...

It's a great hostel, with good people. Location is good, it's clean. It's just what you can expect from a good hostel. The staff brings the hostel from good to great. They will make you feel home. They are the family I've never had... ok maybe that's too much but Tony, Maurice and Evelyn thank you so much for the...

The staff were very friendly but when I was there there wasn't any hot water. I was in a private room which was very small and difficult to get my backpack into. It was also very noisy in the morning so difficult to sleep in, Other than that, the hostel was fine. Great location.

Thank you for staying with us and for leaving a review. We are glad to hear you like our staff and location. We're sorry about the hot water, we have now fixed that issue. The noisiness was unfortunately caused by your fellow guests, we always hope people will behave respectfully while staying at our hostel but it's not always the...

I'll start talking about the security guy, at the door. He's the BEST! So kind and prestative. He deserves my "thank you very much". The rest of the crew are just rude! Lots of rules and they don't explain it to you when it's needed. They also have no patience, I don't know if it was cause we're brazillian, but...

Thank you for staying with us and for leaving a review. We are glad to hear you liked our security man and the hostel itself. This hostel hands down was the best hostel I had ever stayed at. When I checked in I was alone, and Tony instantly welcomed me in and showed me around. I made incredible memories, and I even ended up coming back to Rio from Petropolis and extending my stay. Evelyn is a complete sweetheart who works the afternoon shift, and...

I wouldn’t advise anyone to stay in room 31. It is smelly and moldy. In attempts to make a larger profit, the owners have put 8 beds in a tiny room with very little ventilation. As it was the winter when I stayed there, I can’t imagine what it would be like in the summer when it gets hotter and...

We are glad to hear you like our staff and had a good experience at our hostel. Room 31 is the one with the smallest window, but it has AC. It can be hard to air out but we keep it as clean and dry as we can. We don't have mold issues but when guests hang their wet towels...

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
