I enjoyed my stay at this hostel very much! The staff were extremely knowledgable of the area and friendly to the max. I had a very short time, just 2 nights, but still was able to do many things in Rio because of their recommendations and help with contacting tour companies and making reservations for me, greatly appreciated that! Its...

The hostel staff were friendly, helpful and just plain fun. They gave excellent advice on what to see and where to shop. The evening events were a lot of fun and an opportunity to meet new people. They did give us some good bar recommendations though, and are in a great location to get everywhere. I would definitely stay again!...

Staff here are the best! All legends. Except Freddy, stay away from him 😉. Very social hostel, made tonnes of friends. Good food, good facilities, nice little pool for them hot days. Breakfast was nice and lunch is optional but it is fantastic if you choose to eat there. Very central to everything, close to train station also. Get involved...

I stayed here for three nights over carnival and had to move to a hotel for my remaining time as I got bed bugs from this hostel. I met two other girls in my room which had heard there were people in the room before us who had them from a different room. One of the girls had been bitten...

Hello there! We appreciate the review, though the topic is very sensitive. As we have before, we apologize deeply for all that has happened and feel sorry for the way everything has turned out. But we also reserve ourselves the right of an answer. February in Rio is high season and very busy period, even more due to Carnival. Our...

Really fun place to stay. The rooms not so good but meet a lot of great people and the food is delicious! Love the free caipirinhas 🍻 Recommended for two or three days stay. Very helpful and generous staff and the kitchen good. They don't let you have alcoholic drinks in the fridge.

I've stayed in dozens hostels in Rio over past months. This one is one of the worst. You can find much better places, for smaller prices, even in hostel's neighbourhood. Both dorms and private rooms are very small (unlike on photos), beds are not very comfortable and look dirty. Before booking we were informed at the reception by the "red"...

We are very sorry for you guys not liking the apartment and any inconvenience caused. The flat is in an apart hotel which is truly 3 blocks away from the hostel and we always indicate people to not cross the tunnel, the same was explained for your group as well as a free transfer was offered. Anyways, we do understand...

It's very cozy. Receptionists are the best. The cleaning staff is great too and very polite and careful. Everything runs well and You fell at home. It is near The Tube/Subway, taxis and restaurants. Close to the beach. Receptionists are so polite and kind and they do everything to make you feel comfortable. there is a nice swimming poll too....

It's unfortunate that this hostel lacks minor refurbishments as the staff are all very nice and helpful, and made my stay a lot easier for me. The place is also very very close to the famous Copacabana beach, just a 5 min. Walk, and has everything else just round the corner. Eg. Supermarkets, pharmacies, emergency center etc. From a negative...

This is really a commercial stay. If you looking for private time with the workers, you wont get it. The workers are very professional and know their stuff. There is always someone to assist you with anything. Capharina free Thursdays is fabulous, drink as many from 07:00 to 08:00. Will recommend for any age. Top rooms are quite a climb,...

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
