this should be the last place u choose for youre vacation , the staff is shady and they hardly ever clean the bathrooms , u had to tell them to come clean the room otherwise they simply would not care to clean . The breakfast is a joke, don't even count on getting overall bad experience the only upside of... More

Ive stayed in many hostels this year and this wasntva favourite! Generally I found the place a little annoying. The guys toilets only down stairs. Breakfast in the middle of the foyer/reception area and confusion regarding my booking and having to be moved in the middle of the night! But at the end of the day it was ok for... More

We did a reservation and had already payed half the value. When we arrive we had to pay the other half and they did not let us do early check in or even see the room. We let our luggage there and went for the beach, we came back at night and what a surprise that the guy did not... More

I heard that the staff is not permanent, it´s travelers who work there for some days or weeks to get free accommodation. Maybe that explains why it´s so unorganized, even though they are friendly and always try their best. They needed one hour to finally find a free bed for me and I did reserve a couple of days earlier.... More

I found a bed bug crawling on my bed and then later another on me, well, I think that's enough said. The staff are nice and it's close to the beach but that doesn't make up for the level of cleanliness and the fact that you can find other nicer hostels for the same price that are clean, in a... It was the hottest Rio had been in years whilst we were there and the hostel had trouble getting hold of extra fans for the rooms... grab a top bunk where you can, much cooler at night than the bottom bunks. Breakfast didn't amount to much, but located just off the main strip so many places to eat. Copacabana beach... More

This hostel is a nightmare and I would advise anyone to stay away from it - any place that cant deal with reservations should be closed as far as I am concerned, its the most basic part of hostel business. Owner clearly only cares about money and not for the health & safety of her guests. Friendly advice, get out... More

Rooms are basic, but what y ou expect from a hostel. no aircon but 3 fans in the room did the job. Bit noisy at 1pm from other backpackers one night but overall fairly quiet. Staff are very friendly and quite helpful./ I'd stay again... its just an average backapckers hostel. Bathroom was clean.

the rooms are very very stuffy. Cant stay here at all in summer :( the rooms are smelly, bathrooms are not clean. The only plus side is that the staff are really really nice, but still not worth the trouble

We booked a private room with ensuite but was not up to the standard of what we expected and paid for! Room needed a lot of work. Bathroom very small and smelly. Rooms are located above the communal courtyard so were very noisy. However, the staff are very friendly and speak english. Also offers free internet. I would not recommend... More

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
