Our arrival was an inconvenience to them! We had to the search the property to find some working there. She demanded that we had to pay for all 3 nights before seeing the room. We ended up settling and paying half. The room was dirty and there were holes in the side of the windows. When I asked for a... More

I have spent 2 nights there. It's difficult to make a review without having a comparaison for this kind of hotel (Pousada) in the same area (Ilha Grande), but anyway, it was very good. Good communication with the staffs, location is good a bite out of the village but it's more quiet, Confortable bed, nice AC and fan , large... More

The Pousada Guapuruvu is about a 10 minute walk from the main boat drop off in town. The rooms are very clean and beds were comfortable. CONS: They charge $R30/night to use the air con. They are unable to accept payment for the rooms by credit card, although many of the other neighbouring pousada's do. Over-priced for the quality and... More

This hotel I selected because location. 1) Fist line hotels are expensive and noisy (Brazilian people have no respect to others and they are talking and singing very loud, especially at night. 2) If hotel close to beach it has no trees around but dipper to island it is beautiful forest So I recommend this accommodation for those who want... We stayed here for three nights over the brazil may holiday and asked for a balcony room as per the tips on TA. The balcony rooms are about 300 yds nearer the beach and this makes a difference as the main building is further up te hill! Our stay was great, the room was large, comfy and private. The location... We stayed in the Pousada for four nights and everything was very good. We had a problem with Booking and they solutionated it very quickly. I read some comments about its location: I must say it is 5minutes away from the centre and we needed no additional light (as some suggest). The personal was very friendly and helpful and the... I think anywhere on this island is expensive so this is no different, but we were expecting a bit more from here to be honest. The room was comfortable, but the bathroom was not the cleanest - the loo seat was broken and the door didn't close meaning the always open windows allowed mosquitoes to come right in to the... We stayed here in April and were so happy to find such a relaxing and safe haven after all the commotion in Rio de Janeiro. This pousada is a little outside the center and at night, it is best to carry a flashlight with you as the path is not all illuminated. Once in the pousada, run by two very... More

We have just arrived back in Rio from here today, and I must say...we were sad to leave! A bit of a walk back from the beach, however this allows you to really feel like you are sleeping in the jungle! Our balcony opened onto lush greenery (we had birds fly into our window twice!) the sisters who run the... More

I stayed here as a back packer with two friends. It was quieter than the hostels we were used to but it was amazing, and the same price as a dorm but we were in a private room with bathroom (we shared a room with a double bed and single bed in it). Its a bit of a walk from... More
