By the time I arrived at the counter, another guest had just got his Keys and got reall set to go to his room, so I started asking questions to the front desk employee regarding rooms configudations and prices in order to request a booking for my family. So strange that the front desk person had started answering and that guest started showing her his trip pictures from latest visit to her country. After waiting about 10 minutes for her, while she was enjoying the pictures with no signal that could turn to me and keep going with the answers, I just left to find another hotel to stay. Simply ridiculous, nonsense.

This hotel has a great laid back vibe, just like Buzios itself. Interestingly right at the heart of the town but a tranquil oasis. It has a boho style with striking colours in the welcoming reception area and cool colour pallette in the rooms. Great use of stone, wood and planting both in the rooms and around the hotel adds to the atmosphere. Staff are friendly, helpful and professional . Rooms spacious and cool, with very comfortable beds. We’ll be back to Buzios and will stay here again.

As part of our 21 day trip to Brazil, we want to Buzios for our second time, This time we stayed at the Perola and we are glad we did. The hotel is located literally 1/2 block from Downtown and is an oasis in the craziness that is downtown Buzios. The rooms were large and clean and the bathrooms were large and had double sized showers. They had lots of storage. and a fridge and safe and comfy beds. The pool was amazing and the pool bar had really good drink plus poolside service and food. There were day beds and large loungers around the pool as well. The staff was all very helpful and many spoke English. We bought some Tahitian pears at the small jewelry store on-site at a reasonable price for this kind of pearl. On the day I had a dead battery in my rental car and the staff provided jumper cables and helped us get going very quickly. it was awesome service. I would recommend this property.

The hotel is just average (3 stars overall). The rooms are basic and clean but noisy, as they are by the pool where they play club music until 10pm. Breakfast, facilities, and WiFi, have a lot of room for improvement. Staff is friendly, but has also room for improvement. The location is very good if you like to stay downtown Buzios, as it is right in the center, but yet away from the street noise.

As an American traveling in Brazil, I was curious to see what is really going on (as opposed to what the media portrays.) I felt care from the staff at the gorgeous Perola Hotel from my very first step inside! The lobby was beautifully done & the staff was professional and helpful, above and beyond expectations! The facility had everything I needed to fully enjoy Buzios. The pool had lovely lounge with service that was approachable--Even an area for kids to play. Guests were sociable yet, not invasive. The relaxed atmosphere lent to spending the hottest part of the day under the tiki-covered beds and taking in the gorgeous view while being protected from the sun. Complimentary afternoon coffee & tea was a sweet touch too! The restaurant served some of the the best meals I had in Brazil! A proper breakfast started my day via BRUNCH BUFFET!!! This is a commodity in Buzios!!! I felt welcomed and the staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and dietary needs. There was a separate club for poker players which was modern gaming and a second bar. Great for those wanting to try there luck-- Yet discrete, not interfering with the families who may stay at the hotel. Truly, this is a great place to enjoy Buzios and it was not crowded! A gem of a find!

My wife and I have been staying at this hotel since it carried the "Nikki Beach Hotel" banner, and we loved the place. In general the hotel infrastructure has remained the same, but it is sad to realize that the service quality has been declining along the years. When we arrived at the hotel, on December 26, the swimming pool was closed for maintenance: the water looked dark and sort of mucky, as my photos show. The pool remained closed until the mid afternoon of December 27, but the water kept its dark color and was very uninviting. The staff at the reception desk was inexperienced/undertrained: one of the staff was a foreign girl who did not speak nor understand Portuguese, which is totally unacceptable for any hotel located in Brazil. The Brazilian staff at the reception did not seem to speak any foreign language, which is also unacceptable in a place like Buzios, which attracts tourists from allover the world. On the late afternoon of December 27 while I was taking a shower after a day on the beach the water simply dried up! I complained at the reception desk but no one did really seem to care. On December 28 it was even worse: there was no water for a shower, and the staff was again slow in responding. What upset me most was the manager never being seen on the premises, and no one else seemed to be able to make decisions to try and solve the swimming pool ou lack of water problems. Unfortunately it seems that the "pearl" is turning into a lustreless stone...

The check in das fast. The room was very clean, comfortable ed and pillows , nice internet and ac perfect for Brazilian summer. The staff was very kind, friendly and helpful. The barman was amazing! His fresh juices and drinks , attention and cordiality is outstanding as well as Rose. Both very helpful! The pool was nice and very clean..Every morning they clean the Jacuzzi and the pool. There are comfortable large beds and chairs you can relax and get tuned. I loved the food! The restaurant prepares a bowl with caldinho de feijão( special beans soup with bacon etc). I loved the filet mignon a Madeira sauce with rice and mashed potatoes. The hotel is walking distance from most of good restaurants , bar and pier. It's right near Rua das Pedras and parallels streets with nice stores and elegants boutiques. The only thing we didn't like was the music playing since 11 am by the pool until night, because all the rooms face the pool. All the noise come to your room and that is not cool.. Friendly staff, excellent buffet brakfast!

Dear Houston_TxFriend, At first of all we want to thank you for choosing Perola Búzios Hotel and for giving us your feedback of your recent stay!. We are really honered in having your positive review about our location, staff and services. Búzios has been elected one of the most beautiful areas in the world, famous for its unique combination of rustic charm, architectural harmony, icredible beauty and sophisticated boutiques and restaurants frequented by discreming visitors who come from all over the world to savor its magic. In the early days, the city was popular for the high socity of Rio de Janeiro, who wanted escape from the chaotic city life of Rio de Janeiro and to enjoy the diferent kind of beaches that the peninsula offers. But it wasn´t until 1964, when the famous French Actress Brigitte Bardot visited Búzios, that it grew to be a popular tourist destination. Nowadays Búzios is recognized as the "Saint Tropez of Brasil" an exclusive city with more than 20 magnificent beaches and crystal clear waters is located 165 kilometers east of Rio de Janeiro and therefore we count during the high season and holidays with more movement than common. We are very sorry for what happened and we will be more carefull with those details. Once again thank you for all and we will be very pleased to welcome you again best regards,

I arrived at the Perola after a week-long meditation retreat in the nature of Brazil and I couldn't have picked a better place to relax! My friends and I were thoroughly impressed with the decor and ambiance, service, pool, and especially the wonderful breakfast at the Perola Hotel in Buzios. The moment we arrived we were greeted with free champagne and the service stayed excellent throughout our five-night stay. The staff speaks English, which is rare in Brazil. My friends and I stayed in a loft room and it was clean and quiet. The room also had the best shower that I have had in Brazil, and I have spent over a year of my life traveling in Brazil. The pool area is so tranquil and beautiful that sometimes it was hard to leave and go to the beach, the beach is missing the comfy cabanas...I loved just sipping on a coconut in the jacuzzi. One of the best things about the Perola is the location. It is very close to the center so you can walk to beaches and shops and restaurants, but it's also is just far enough away from the road that you don't hear lots of street noise. My friends and I loved everything about this hotel, I only wish I could have stayed longer! I can't wait to go back!

The location of the hotel is perfect and the layout is fantastic. Only problem is that it isn't very well looked after. There a many tiles missing in the pool, it could do with a deep clean and the whole hotel needs a bit of work. It's a shame it's a bit run down as it could be absolutely fantastic if the owners would invest a bit of money. Cleaning could be improved altogether. Staff is friendly and breakfast is good.
