I was a bit nervous about booking at this hotel for a 3 week vacation, based solely upon the reviews, but I decided to go for it. So I booked this place one month in advance and pre-paid my reservation. I'm glad that I did. Many reviewers point out the distance to Belem Centre - perhaps about a $US 10.00...

Our group stayed here for three nights. Had their standard rooms the first night, but some of the bathrooms and air conditioners had problems. Changed to their more "premium" rooms which were much better. Garden and pool area was beautiful. Buffet breakfast had many choices and was excellent. Had difficulty with ordering food for other meals because of language difficulty,...

we stayed for one night at the hotel and were a bit disappointed. the pool area is nice and we had a lot of fun jumping around and getting some sun. But besides that the hotel is really basic. the rooms had no charm at all, we werent allowed to use the pool after the official checkout time and had...

My wife and I stayed at the Beira Rio hotel for three nights in November 2015. Comments: LOCATION: BAD SIDE: indeed, it is a bit far from the heart of the city, and surrounded by a poor area (although I did not feel unsafe). I recommend staying at the hotel if you have a car (that was my case). GOOD...

I stayed one night at the Beira Rio. The personell, rooms, restaurant, pool, garden, breakfast were very good and I would recommend visitors to stay at this hotel. The only minor thing is that the hotel is far away from downtown....

I stayed in this large, riverfront hotel for an entire week. It also served ably as the event center on 2 occasions for a meeting hosted by the nearby UFPA. The staff are friendly and helpful, although very limited in their multi-lingual abilities. The hotel is largely surround by a favela and visitors are advised not to walk in any...

If you don´t mind staying in a bad area, or if you are willing to stay next to the UFPA university, this is the place for you. The hotel is far away from the main tourists area in Belém, but the staff is very nice, the rooms are not bad and the restaurant and swimming pool are wonderful. The best...

Right on the edge of an notoriously dangerous favela. You would not walk anywhere outside this hotel. Everything is a 25 minute plus taxi ride away. My room smells a bit of sewage, ancient TV doesn't work, internet is very slow. The room and hotel are almost clean but rundown. The pool us lovely and clear. The buffet restaurant is...
