Let me start by saying again, this is my favorite hotel in Brasil. My family and I have been going to Brasil almost every 3 years for 30 years, and every time we are in Fortaleza we stay at the Hotel Colonial. The first thing you'll notice about the hotel is it's size and style. It is not a high rise hotel, that are becoming more and more prevalent all over, but rather an older colonial open air style. There are three two story wings branching out from the open central area that houses the two pools, and another two more halls of room and suite that surround the middle. There is a bar at the pool as well as an excellent restaurant in the hotel. There are business conference rooms and an in house cleaning service. It is located a block from the Praia do Irecema and a short taxi ride anywhere else in Fortaleza. There is a computer for guests to use, and across the street is an internet shop with about six computers. There are many restaurants in walking distance, as well as the nightly faire along the beach. The staff are excellent and many are multi-lingual, and guests from all over the world stay there. The food is incredible and room service is available all over the hotel, including the pool. There are staff members at the front desk 24 a day, and a taxi stand just outside the front entrance, valet parking is also available. Hotel Colonial is also very affordable. The average room is only $35 a night. The food and amenities are also reasonably priced. If you are going to Brasil and want to see some of the best beachs there, go to Fortaleza. The Hotel Colonial is the best hotel to stay at around those incredible beachs. Tchau!

We stayed here for 2 nights and were really happy with the location, it is really easy to walk to the beach and restaurants and we got a bit of a seaview from our balcony. It was nice to have a few swimming pools to choose from and the fitness centre was big and had everything we could possibly need. The receptionists tried to speak English and where they couldn't, used Google translate to help us out. The kitchen was handy to have and the room had everything we needed, the bathroom was quite outdated and the bedroom was tiny, there was barely room for us to walk around the bed! The only problems we had were the size of the bedroom and bathroom and also that some signs on the lifts saying cinema room etc led to nothing which was a bit strange!
