I went with my family to stay at this hotel and we all made a point of evaluating the hotel because our family was very well received by everyone at the hotel! Thank you to meryjo, marcio, joilson and the entire team. We loved the cafe run by “Dona Diene” who we had the pleasure of visiting. We hope to return to the fortress soon and we will return there! Success to you!!

For travellers who are just passing through Fortaleza, this is a very good and practial solution. It is not far from the airport from where we paid 30 reais for a taxi to the hotel. We arrived quite late, but the reception is manned 24/7 I understand. The only problem was that the area in front of the entrance was so packed with cars that we had trouble passing through with our suitcases. Would be an idea to cordon off a passageway.
The receptionist was friendly and helpful, although I don't know if he spoke other languages but Portuguese, since we both speak it. He could of course have advised us to choose the other stairs as the staircase we took is narrow and hard to climb with heavy suitcases. A good tip is to book a room on the ground floor! There is already a space reserved for the elevator so the future looks bright:)
The bed was put right underneath the aircondtioning which isn't a good solution, but it was easy to move the bed. Everything else was in perfect order and internet was easy accessible and quite fast.
Breakfast was rather good according to Brazilian standards. The receptionist ordered a taxi for us to continue to the bus terminal which is quite close, but too far to walk - and walking with suitcases on the streets in Brazil is not what I recommend:)
Some people complain about the surroundings, but frankly, it is a normal Brazilian suburb. Most tourists probably never will visit one, but that is how it is.
We were both satisfied with the hotel and will certainly come back, since we are not interested in the beaches but just passing through:)

The hotel is located less than 20 minutes from the airport. I arrived at 3am and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room is small, but very clean and comfortable, and that is exactly what I was looking for at that time of morning. Because I slept late I missed the morning breakfast but they were kind enough to serve me some coffee and fine a piece of fine Brazilian cake. I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a short stay over that is near the airport. The staff do not speak English but you can manage and they are always eager to please.

+1
Proximity to the airport was important this time. As their own website is not so good, I decided to book via booking.com. I normally do not do this since I think that the hotels themselves should get the money.
From the airport I paid 11.50 reals on the taxameter (commun, far right when arrived) Short drive, even easier would be to stop at the corner of de Matos/Praxedes and walk a few steps. You need to pass the gate yourself anyway. Just ring the bell to the right. Front desk is open 24hr but no one spoke English when I phoned in the day before OR at the location.
Nevertheless very helpfull staff, even a 'bellboy' to help you to the room and hook you up on wifi/TV/fridge and AC.
Double room at base floor (109) for one person was 148 local money.
Beds: Firm, spring mattress. My back like this.
WiFi: 3 different test gave an down speed of 14 mbps average and 5 up.
Bathroom: Clean and newly renovated but flimsy design as always.
TV/charging: 27" with hard to reach connections. 2 power sockets under TV was great, extra power outlet in bathroom. Brazilian 3 pin and possible Euro-plug 2 pin.
Aircon: Silent but over bed.
Noice: Not bad for this location. I'm sensitive but slept like a baby.
Breakfast: Got what is needed before flying. Good coffee but watered out thick juice from brickpack. Ready made sandwiches and pastrys and cales. Some fruits. The presentation was bad with plastic film covering most things but lot of people working, proably trying their best.
Area: This is normal suburbia, not fair to call it a favela. Felt safe to walk home after midnight eating on the sidewalk hotdog stand. Gas station 100 meter from hotel looks always open but offered not much more than beer. And chips and... gas.
I asked for a late check out time and got thumbs up. Not sure this is standard or due to language problem. But worth trying if you have a late flight.
OVERALL: A basic hotel, clean and not yet run down. Close to the airport but will not get you any beaches or fine dining. Great if you are in between flights.

Hotel with good price/quality, good location near the airport perfect for those who arrive one day and have a flight the next morning, the area is not suitable for walking, the rooms are clean, acceptable size but with small windows that make them dark, reasonable breakfast, friendly staff.
